For someone like Blake that can't throw the football he threw for a lot more yards and touchdowns than other quarterbacks in the league that you and others believe can throw the football? Weird huh and by the way I hope the Jaguars don't resign him because both parties need to move forward in their lives.

My man, the last thing I'm going to do is hijacked this topic with who's better than Blake and vice versa my point is for someone that can't throw he he did produced production at times and it wasn't like a Tim Tebow situation. Let me make one thing clear both parties need to move on from each other and I hope we lose every game so we get Trevor Lawrence.

I just think embed criticized for lack of football spirals is overblown spotted fan base and it wasn't like a Tim Tebow situation as if he couldn't hit a broadside of a barn. Let me make one thing clear both parties need to move on from each other and I hope we lose every game so we get Trevor Lawrence.

So you don't have any examples in other words. If you must know I was one of the few who really wanted Watson and Lamar in here, do those qualify as better?

And yeah agreed. Would make no sense to bring him in
Blake truthers still out there huh?

And forget everything he learned in camp within 3 games.

Joe Burrow will be available for backup duties in about 4 years.

You honestly believe Foles played better? And he had the advantage of throwing to a much improved Chark.
@leo ....problem was you never knew which bb5 was going to show up.
Good blake or Bad blake.
And usually it was Bad blake....really Bad, Bad blake

Look he's clearly not coming back and Minshew is a better QB.

But this whole he was awful thing is a lie. He was much better than Gabbert, Foles and Kessler. Probably better than Leftwich.

I don't get the hate. He was inconsistent yes.

That's my whole point is like the hate for Blake is a exaggeration to the negative which I don't get our fan base when Blaine Gabbert played significantly worse than him. Base on the comments read on the message boy you would think Blake Bortles was JaMarcus Russell or Akili Smith.

I truly agree with you and that's why I feel like his time here is done and I don't want him to come back even as a backup. I want to turn the page on Blake like the next person but I don't like the narrative surrounding his name. I just want somebody like Trevor Lawrence to be the face of this franchise one day.

Hey, we all still love Blake, he was a great guy.  We just don't want him playing football here.

Inconsistent and terrible. More seasons as a bottom 5 starter than average seasons, that's why hes 27 and likely won't be a starter for a full season again unless there's an injury

The Face of this franchise wears a mustache and jorts. As it should be.

On the occasions he was good, he really was pretty good which is why the Jags where fooled into keeping him around as long as they did. The maddening part (which drives a lot of the vitriol) is that he seemed to reserve his worst play for the most critical times. And when he was bad he was really, spectacularly bad.

This sums it up well. There’s not hate for Blake. He’s a very personable guy that almost everyone admired. But when the chips were down, and sometimes not, his play could be spectacularly bad. In any profession that kind of performance issue can draw derision.

Isn't the point of this thread around Blake coming in as a backup?  Think people are overreacting.  Unless you have a young guy you are grooming to eventually take over as a starter, I think Blake would make a good candidate as a backup in this league.  A lot of experience, doesnt have an ego, has a lot of athleticism, etc...  If Blake had to finish a game if your starter gets hurt, a solid coach could easily come up with a gameplan to take advantage of Blake's athleticism and try to avoid mistakes.  If you had to go to him for multiple games, then you are probably in trouble.  But any team that doesnt have a young guy with talent is probably going to be in trouble.
