First, I agree, he looked bad for the second game in a row. He is regressing, and falling back on his horrible rookie mechanics.  I think it's because he's losing confidence in himself, and the ability to carry the team.

But he shouldn't have to carry the team. He needs help!

To me, the second to last drive of the game sums up Blake's season. We get the ball, deep in Ravens' territory. Chris Ivory runs the ball on first and second down, and gets nothing. So now we're at 3rd and 10, and Blake is forced to make a play, which turns out to be an INT.

It may be true that Bortles will never develop in the quarterback we all hope he can be, but he can probably get better if we have a running game that doesn't force him to be the sole play maker on offense. The constant 3rd and longs put too much pressure on him, as they would on any QB in the league.

Mark Brunell had Fred Taylor, and you can bet #28 made #8's job a lot easier. David Garrard had Jones-Drew.

Now, I don't blame Yeldon or Ivory. I think the run blocking is suspect, and could be improved if we had an extra blocker - a fullback. But Gus won't do that, because apparently they don't do that in Seattle.  Gus doesn't make adjustments to fit his players' strengths.  That's why Myles Jack spends so much time on the bench.

I don't blame all of Blake's problems on Gus. But my number one problem with this coaching staff is that they don't use schemes that makes the game a little easier on their young players. I think one reason Philly and Dallas are having so much success with their rookie QBs is because the coaches don't make the game any harder for them than they have to.

Blake was the leading rusher in the game yesterday. He can't do it all by himself. Give him some help, and his confidence will probably improve.  Then maybe he'll get back to improving.

Well, I don't know about that. I also 'don't blame them' in the sense that if we had a decent run blocking like they would be better. But I do blame them for not just being good enough to deal with it in the first place. Especially Ivory, this is what he is supposed to be good at. I think we might have paid for a back that's already past his prime again...
I don't care if you're Blake Bortles or Joe Flacco. When you're one dimensional and fall behind your day is done.

I wish Mojo was 23 again, and could suit up, with Greg Jones blocking.

Why didn't we utilize Julius Thomas like at all

He missed Julius in the seam badly on one throw but yeah they gotta get him more looks.

Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz are rookies tho
I've been very outspoken about Skeeter's mistakes the past two weeks.

I still think he can be very good.

But he needs help.

Help from the staff and help from his line.

Hoping....
It's not all Blake's fault but he still needs to be blame some for his mistakes
When your QB is the leading rusher (which happened last year often too) you have a lot more problems than at QB.

Their game plan was clear from the start: target ARob. He got so many targets early in the game and Blake was forcing it to him.

Gus just doesn't know what he wants to do. He wants to be a run first team but guess what, we don't have the talent for that! He wants to run his Seattle defense but guess what... we don't have the talent for that!

Belicheck is the best coach of all time because he schemes to his players strengths. He doesn't pigeon hole them into his scheme. He adapts to them.
Unfortunately Gus can't make those type of scheme adjustments during the season. Those things are done in spring, maybe pre-season.

I don't think the guy can make any adjustments PERIOD
We should of went for the kill when we had the chance. Had we did that we wouldn't be talking about that horrible sack Blake took

This. I'm not worried. I've seen him do enough good things to know what he can be. Even yesterday he had some stretches of very good play. He's had some HORRIBLE luck with tipped ball INTs this year as well.

Let a real coach get their hands on him and he'll be fine. That's why I want Haley.

You bring up a good point here. He's thrown 6 interceptions so far this season but of those six, I think half of them were tipped balls. At this point, I always expect an INT whenever a ball is tipped, bobbled, etc every single time.

I'll trade a pick to get Hue Jackson in here.

Look at what Hue is doing with the worst roster in the NFL. Its remarkable.
Man, at the end of the game. Blake is one dumb dude. must of scored really low on the wonderlic at the combine.

Not so.... I clearly saw him adjust his junk early in the 3rd quarter...

There's maybe 2-3 teams in the NFL that uses fullbacks. And they aren't getting 2 ypc like we are.

who didn't Blake miss yesterday? Overshot Lee. Chucked one deep to Arob. Julius. Hurns on that deep post (which got Hurns blasted because the ball was so high).
