I'd like to see the interim HC get us to 8-8.

8 wins and 4 losses? Impressive.

They aren't gonna let a new head coach go into London without knowing the ropes. Gotta be after.
Quote:This LEO stuff is why the Chargers murked us and why we couldn't sack Rodgers.

They got to Rivers so that wasn't an issue. Against Rodgers they decided to play "contain" instead of going after him. Jim Schwartz plays a wide 9 defense which is exactly what the LEO is. Take a look at how his defense is doing.

Ok. So here is another question. Once Bradley gets fired, does Myles Jack play?

Agree with this. The logistics of the London game aren't the easiest. Would be very unfair to Marrone or whoever to throw him into that fire. Just let Gus lose to the Colts and make the move then.
It seems like we have the clots number since Luck took over, I sense a win coming, just enough to get Gus thru the whole season... Can we get to to 6 wins? I don't know.

Hopefully. Why he isn't playing now is a major head scratcher. Especially after Skuta went out.

Say the interim HC gets us to 0-16.  Then he's gone at the end of the year, and the Jags have the first pick in the draft. But say he goes 4-4, or even 3-5.  That might be enough to keep him on for next year.
I just don't see him doing that. It's a lose - lose

Fire him = unrest in locker room for 12games and a bad taste until next year.

Push through = chance of playing to our standard and still losing. Which will result in a new coach and a new system and yet another year of the feeling of rebuilding. Surprised how badly Bruce Arians is doing btw
Because of what already happened in the Chargers game,  I'll be surprised if Gus Bradley is still the Jaguars HC if the team doesn't win in London.   The combination of Shad Khan's expectations for the team and the importance of the team's annual game in London is something that probably will factor heavily in his decision.

Do you think Gus didn't bring a real defensive coordinator, because just incase the season didn't pan out, they can't fire him because he has someone who's running his scheme? Think about it? We can't fire gus because we will still be running his dumb scheme when he's gone. So it's kinda pointless to fire him unless u get rid of wash too

Haha I don't think Gus is capable of being that diabolical.

If we fire him, our Team would immediately be the best coaching scenario in the league. The only thing I just hate is the fact that these young guys will have to have a new system and deal with new personalities coaching them

My question is this. If we fire Gus after London, do we stick with the Leo stuff?

If we hire another coach who continues with this ridiculous 4-3 hybrid scheme, then I'm done! It doesn't work and we're just banging our head against a brick wall by continuing to use it. It needs to be scrapped!

Nope, and if I were Caldwell if Gus goes, so does Oly and Wash. Let Marrone take the interim head gig, call the plays and give Monte Kiffin the Defense until DC can clean house at the end of the year. If we go 1-15, so be it. Its not like we would do much better with Gus. I'd rather see Kiffin's tampa 2 with a base 4-3 than this elephant leo lotto otto quack job of a defensive scheme. Put Jack on the field with Poz and Smith, let the youngsters play(season is over anyway). This is just me, thankfully I am not the GM.
Firing the head coach in the middle of the season makes no sense.

Firing him at the end of the season when his team will have lost 48-50 games in 4 seasons and will have averaged a 4-12 or 5-11 record will make perfect sense.

As to Bortles, I've never been a fan of the pick, but then again, I thought Garrard and Gabbert, his predecessors, were poor choices.

Until, in the draft, this team strikes gold with a QB pick, we'll remain bottom-feeders like the Browns, whose ineptitude in picking QBs exceeds even ours.

Quote:Agree strongly with this. They have nothing to lose, since they're already losing! How could Marrone do any worse? Look, Mr. Khan, you've been very patient with Gus. If this team goes into the bye with an 0-4 record, the chances of them getting to 8-8 at the end of the year are virtually nill.
"We have nothing to lose"... but on the other hand, what do we have to gain by firing Gus at this point? Statistically, interim coaches don't do very well; so what's to be gained then by firing Gus after the bi week? We'll still have the same schemes in place and essentially the same coaches. I don't think anyone who we might use as an interim would be a good HC here.

So what's to be gained if Gus is sacked before the end of the season, other than perhaps him becoming our 'whipping boy' for our frustration as fans for years of bad football? If Gus becomes our 'whipping boy' then shouldn't Dave also be on a hot seat since he hired Gus as well as our current 'franchise quarterback' who isn't looking too good?
Sosa, This team can't run the ball. They are not going 8-4 with an interim coach... the coach doesn't open up running lanes.

There was a great commercial on yesterday about Publix. It was gus' wife saying how hard he prepares for game day and how she has Publix help her prepare. Maybe there's a secret message hidden in that commercial. Gus has been lying to everyone, he bought the ice cream from Publix!
Even if he wins in England he should be fired.
Replace Gus at Halftime of the London game with Les Miles.... he doesn't deserve to coach another 2nd half of football.
