Nothing! If I were to go into my job and say, "I don't wanna do any work today. Too many unjust things are going on in the world and I just can't deal with it," I'd get fired. NBA players are already looked at as being a bunch of spoiled, overpaid, babies and this boycott is just proving that. I hope the NBA tanks.

Don't owners and players share profits in NBA? They are so woke they done cancelled themselves lol.

I was a diehard Spurs fan since the 3rd grade. I lost my passion for the league this year. It literally just went away. I haven't tuned into a single game since the restart. I only know who is playing because of Twitter.
It's definitely not going to accomplish anything..... they just postponed the games. They games aren't canceled. It's just a rest day now because they didn't want to play.

Great sacrifice players you gave up nothing and got a free vacation day.

Maybe Lebron and his detective squad can and do some research about the criminal and what he did.

OK, I see they are putting pressure on the DA to press charges against the police officer since no action had been take since the shooting. Now I understand the rationale behind the boycott (for the DA to take action) but still think things could really backfire on athletes in the long run.

WNBA still playing. Guess the WNBA Legent Diana Turasi didn't want to give up her $119,500 salary ..... Oh My !!! Reminder Tobias Harris makes $32 million

Over charge the guy without having all the facts only for him to get off when an actual lawyer gets hired.
Who would think that with covid, a violent criminal getting shot would end sports?

I really hope the NBA ends the season. If other leagues join in and don't fine players, I may be done. There is a lot of other stuff that can be done during the season.

Who would have ever thought that fake social justice warrior who drove a Him6mer in high school and was treated like royalty since middle school would pass up an asterisk championship.

Give golf a try. No politics and they play every week.

I've got MMA still, but even that is having other types of issues. Can't watch golf, but it will affect golf because of sponsors and companies don't want to stand up for themselves against protestors.

I dunno. They have done a pretty good job avoiding politics.  Players would never boycott because you have to play to get paid. A November Masters will be awesome.  I get it though, golf isn't for everyone.

That's why they make so much money

Honestly, if they don't finish out the season, no one will care about these players either. It would be a betrayal to the fans who supported them and it would destroy the NBA. I guarantee if they ended the season now without finishing the playoffs, when they did return, they'd lose 50% of their fans. Imagine if the Jags finally made the playoffs and during the playoff run, the players voted to end the season over something that had absolutely nothing to do with sports? I'd be done with this team. Nothing could bring me back. The NBA is gonna regret allowing this "social justice" into their sport. People watch sports to escape the "doom and gloom" of what is going on in the world today. Without the distraction of sports, people are just gonna get more angry and violent.

My guess is they will get the owners to donate to a cause so they can declare some kind of moral victory, then come back and play.

In my perfect world,  the owners tell them to pound sand, but spineless men like Mark Cuban are scared to death of offending the woke mob, so he and Ballamer will donate a [BLEEP] ton of cash to BLM to put this behind them.

Nah the vast majority of NBA fans would continue supporting and watching the teams. it wouldn't really be a big issue at all in terms of losing fans.

The NBA has always allowed social justice into the league and it's gone from strength to strength (despite what ratings truthers wanna tell you)

Mine came from Viet Nam.

I use a Samsung phone. Last I checked,  made in South Korea, and they closed their last manufacturing plant in China in 2019. Maybe the charging socket was made in China, you could be right.

I am getting close to agreeing with you. The entitlement is out of hand, and is really off putting.
Some NFL teams have cancelled their practices today. It looks like the Jags may end up being.one of them.

Refusing to play/practice isn't going to fix social justice issues. And it seems like teams/leagues are trying to stronghold each other into not playing/ practicing. Even though there are definitely players who want to play. A lot of what many of the players is grandstanding. They really aren't solving anything besides annoying their bosses/fans.

I have never been a fan of not going to work/doing a job as a form of protest, unless people at a job are oppressing/ hurting people in some way. And that is the case with many sports leagues who have bent over backwards to please their players. Especially the NBA. Adam Silver has gone above and beyond for the players and they still have.blindsighted him with these moves and are putting the NBA's season in jeopardy.

My understanding is that the DA cannot take action.  There is a local law that all police shootings go to an independent review board and the DA is proscribed from doing anything in the meantime.
It's hard to see where all this protesting and stuff ends, because there is no achievable and measurable goal. "Racial justice" is a laudable goal, but it is not measurable, so you can't tell if you have gotten there or not, so how does everyone climb down from all this protesting?

"What do you want?"
"Racial justice."
"Okay, but I can't give you that. Pick something else."
