My son came out walking around in his MJD jersey yesterday and asked me why MJD doesn't unretire and take Fournettes spot.   Laughing

"He's only 35 dad, thats not old" Sorry son, i disagree. I feel it everyday lol

Sure would be nice to have MJD in his prime right now.

Adrian Peterson is 35 and has over 1200 more rushing attempts.  I think MJD still has at least 4 more good years in him  Smile
Same, watched his highlights and thought he didn't seem to be as fast as most nfl backs. His 40 time was 4.64, lower than most starting nfl RB's. Seems to have good vision, and ability to break out of tackles, with his low center of gravity from being 5'9".

I know you can't put all your stock into a 40 time, but it's worth noting. Fournette's 40 time was 4.51. Ozigbo was 4.54. Chris Thompson's was 4.42...in 2013.
His size and line cuts remind me a little of Darren Sproles but the similarity ends when he hits open field. Sproles had speedy legs that were a blur when he hit top gear. Robinson has a stiff-legged gait which limits his speed.
Dude is gonna be getting stuffed at the line avg 3.1 yards per carry. Then the Jaguars gonna be all in panic mode when the running game is trash and they gonna suck bad with Minshew throwing 40+ times per game and throwing a bunch of int's then this message board gonna blow up with negativity.
He has been compared to MJD. Size, cone drill, shuttle but has more explosive first step, but a lower high end speed.

If he is even half of what MJD was I'd be happy.

Can't be worse than Fournette.

I was already excited to see what Robinson can do, and now I am more so.

Interestingly - he coached O'Shaugnessy as well.

Easy, Deb. Let's give them a chance first.
1 cut power downhill patient rb is what I saw looking at "highlights". Nothing flashy. Nothing wrong with that at all, he should be solid, but I definitely don't see any MJD in him. MJD was literally the hardest person to tackle in the game, that's insulting to compare him to MJD tbh.
So, he's kind of like MJD without the speed, quickness, and power. That actually makes him closer to Toby Gerhart without the cap hit.
A smaller Mike Alstot? Yes please.
Mark Ingram is the closest pro comparison based on the highlights in my opinion.
I obviously have not studied anything beyond the highlights. To me, he looks like he hits the line very fast, but doesn't have a next gear. He looks pretty strong to me and his explosion tests look pretty good . How he hits the line looks a lot better than Fournette. Leonard's explosion tests are mostly incomplete, but his vertical jump was really bad compared to Robinson's (and almost every other RB). I am optimistic that Robinson could be an improvement overall, even if he isn't a threat to scope every play.

Don't say that!

*sigh* Hammies takes weeks and months to heal. Got bitten by the injury bug already.
I think this young man is exactly the player that we need right now and am excited to see how he will perform.
I see shades of Arian Foster and David Johnson. With a little bit of Peyton Hillis.

His vision is already better than Fournette's ever was.
He's gonna be the surprise of the league

this offense will all depend on our oline imo. I think they will much improved and Talor will be a beast
