The 0-4 Texans are brutal right now and have clearly regressed from last season.  Everyone in their city is calling for O'Brien's head on a platter.  They just got beat soundly at home by another winless team today.  And they are going to WAX us next week... that's how bad WE are.  But Caldwell is only in Year 8 and needs more time.
You think the Jags would have 1 win if they played the Chiefs Ravens Steelers and Vikings?

That’s a big no.

If Watson got to face the Bengals, Colts, Dolphins and Titans, they would be at worst 2-2.
I think having Minshew, Robinson and Cherk is probably good enough to win a couple of games when the opposing team's offense has an off day. It's not gonna be easy with that defense though.

I'm shocked we have one win as it is... especially against the Colts.  I will chalk that up to the Colts not being ready to roll in a COVID season.

The Texans have clearly gotten worse on both sides of the ball, regardless of their tough schedule.  The D-Hop trade looks worse every week. They were not really even competitive in any of their games and just lost at home to a winless Vikings teams that had their entire starting secondary out of the game and lost their best LB early in the season.  More than 1/2 of their defensive starters were out, and Houston got kicked around by them.  But the Texans will still KILL us next weekend.  We are that bad.
Minshew has happy feet. They won't win another game this year with him doing that.

How many people would trade that package for the #1-3 overall pick to get either Lawrence (unlikely) or Fields?

I don't think anyone selecting #1 will trade out of it. But hypothetically speaking.

Depends if a 3rd QB emerges for the top 10. I mean right now who is definitely taking a QB? Jets (Dump Darnold)? Falcons(Ryan is 36)? Football Team(Dump Haskins)? Broncos(Dump Lock)?

I think the Jets, Washington, Philly, and a few others would definitely take him #1.

If Jets got him #1, I wouldn't mind trading a 3rd or 4th for Sam Darnold though.

it's hard to win a game when you're defense can't stop a high school team... you don't think minshew knows this and is constantly playing from behind... we're scoring enough points in a game to win but it means nothing if the defense can't stop anybody from scoring
If the Jags go like 1-5 or 1-6 and they get rid of Walsh, maybe they can hire someone who can better help the defense. And maybe help somewhat salvage the season. Granted I don't want to see the Jags go 1-5 or 1-6 but I wonder if that is enough for the organization to move on from Walsh.

At this point as far as wins I don't know. I would like to think they would win at least a few more wins, but the defense is so bad. And it's hard for the offense to overcome them constantly putting them behind. I feel like the offense may be losing confidence because of constantly playing behind. Maybe the offense can have a strong showing in at least a few games and scrape together a few wins. And/or maybe some of the opposing QB's will play poorly. But I doubt it. The rest of the QB this teams faces are decent to very good, so... I don't think we're going to see many of them really struggle against this defense.
They will be in position to get the top pick and win our last game

We all love his moxie and attitude, but he doesn't scream franchise QB.

With that said, i'm all for us not winning another game this year. This team is frustrating to watch.

People were way too quick to crown him.  He's a great guy.  But this team is so desperate for competent QB play that they'll fall in love with whoever the Jags have as starter as long as it's not the last guy to fail.  Minshew is easy to like, but I don't think he's the answer to this team's questions at the position.  I wish he was, it'd make things so much easier.  But I think he's a bit too inconsistent.  He won't make big mistakes, but he also won't make the big plays we need to win consistently.

If we're too quick to crown him, ya'll are too quick to toss him aside. It's comical how out of touch you're acting. Minshew is recognized throughout the league as being good. I don't even understand what you're seeing. This defense is literally one of the worst defenses I've seen in 20 years. Bad in only a way that Jags could be. Minshew is still doing pretty decent despite this, but because every mistake he makes is being amplified by 1000% because one mistake on offense means we lose the game. Meanwhile franchise guys are struggling to put up 14 points some games and their defense manages to keep them in it and they have a chance to come back in win the game. That's what a franchise guy does. I've seen enough from Minshew to see him be able to win those games. You can't crown him yet, obviously but you don't ditch him because he plays on a crap team his sophomore year.

Our offense is currently ranked 19th in the League and our defense is 23rd.  I get that stats are not everything, but it is inaccurate to think we have this juggernaut offense and the only reason we are losing is because of the defense.  The roster is bad across the board.  I agree the jury is out on Minshew still, but there is reason for concern the last couple of weeks.

The offense is better than the stats show. The offense isn't on the field much because the defense can't get off the field and allows long drives and many plays, all eating up the time of possession.

Lol juggernaut offense. Noone is saying we have a juggernaut offense. Look at our time of possession vs. opponent's. The fact that we are only losing by one or two possessions tells me enough that the Offense is good enough to be competitive.

I'd agree that out offense is ahead of our defense, but our offense is not better than 19th in the League.  But the flipside of your argument is: if you factor in how we are always playing from behind and forced to be more aggressive and push the pace on offense, we would not have as many yards as we do.  Its complementary football.

Please don’t give me the “too much talent” speech.

Offense has Robinson and Chark and Minshew sometimes; but even then they can’t score consistently.

Accounting for an unexpected upset, which always happens, for better or for worse; this team is looking at 2-14.

We’re heading for another rebuild and it sickens me to type that. This fan base and this city have  suffered enough

We play too many close games not to get lucky on some random week. Or, mid-season firings and interim coaches turn things around with the D.

Not like we are losing by 22 every week. I think 4 is the ceiling at present, though, unless we face some covid-ravaged rosters that are forced to play a handful of backups on offense.

If by competitive, you mean 6-10, then sure.  We have a competitive offense.  That's about what the 19th or 20th ranked offense in the League will get you.

Which decent QBs did we have again? Cripes, I'll even let you dig into Buffalo's history to pull out the QB gems they had too.

Quit spraying every thread like a feral cat. It stinks.
I don't think we can win any games with this defense, and I don't have any hope that they will improve. The usual season-long attrition will make them even worse.

Right now, I see 1-15.
Before the season I said any division game is winnable because no matter how bad teams are the divisional match ups tend to play close anyway. We won won, and lost a close one, with a bad tinhorns team up next. I'll stick to my guns there and say we still can win one of the two remaining vs the tinhorns and who knows what happens with the tacks season and maybe clots are resting guys week 17. So any of those games are, in theory, winnable. Would I pick us to win them? Nah, not on here, and not in Vegas. But it's possible.
Outside of those games I thought Phins, Bengals, and Browns were our best bets at wins..... 0 fer so far on those and Browns look much better than anticipated...
I thought the Bears wouldn't be good and we'd be facing of against Foles by then... so maaaaaybe we get one there, late in the season who knows what rosters are looking like. Lions don't look great right now, so that one is still a possibility. I know they upset the Cards and played the Saints close but I'm not convinced they're "good". I don't know what's up with the Vikes... so a game I once thought wasn't winnable now looks possible.
All that being said, we have to play much much better on defense and gotta be more consistent on offense to win any. And until I see those things I wouldn't PICK us to win another game.
There are still "winnable" games on the schedule though, those teams aren't elite powerhouses and all have issues of their own still, so we could take advantage. I thought we'd win 6-8 games this season. Looking more like 4-5 at best right now. Defense is way worse than I thought it would be. Help is not on the way but if the offense can get it together consistently I think we can beat some bad teams.

I think the defensive stats are probably a more true reflection than the offensive stats.  We've been coming from behind almost every game and the offensive gameplan is out the window quickly.  Saying that I'm not sure the offense is a juggernaut either.  Minshew has been a solid QB but hasnt shown anything to make him elite.  And we seem to have pretty solid skill players on offense but not sure we have anyone elite there either.  It's a solid offense that at times looks really good but is inconsistent.  The question that obviously needs to be answered is will Minshew get better as the year goes on or has he already peaked.  It's easy to say the 6'0 guy without a strong arm has already peaked because odds are that is likely the case.  But sometimes QB have something extra.  Minshew seems like the kind of guy that could.  We'll find out.

The defense on the otherhand has been awful.  Not sure if those stats you are looking at are yards or points per game.  Points per game is misleading because of some of those stops deep in our territory.  We just cant stop anyone.  And we don't seem to be physical up front.  Sure the talent may be lacking but they just look soft.  Where is the attitude?  I think the talent is better than the results.

Those were yards per game.  Definitely, an imperfect stat.  I would have a hard time pointing to another defense in the League that is worse than ours.  And I agree:  we are brutal up front.
