Quote:I'm sure Walters will be on speed dial if a WR gets hurt, I thought Benn would be cut first but Benn has been good on ST

Benn also has the speed to get downfield for the big catches, and that's more what this offense with Bortles is built for.

Quote:Sure the guy could catch, but he gives you absolutely nothing after the catch. There's only so much patience in this league for dime-a-dozen catch-and-fall receivers.

He caught everything.

That's not dime-a-dozen.  Let's be fair to the dude.  He had sure hands.  Even when he was falling on his head.

Plus, if it's this coaching staff that's making the cut, I'm not sure I have confidence that the can really recognize that the next man up is of better talent then Walters.

Either way, I'm sad to see him go.  He was the epitome of toughness last year.  Shame the coaches couldn't figure out a way to get him better.  But then again, the coaches of this team don't really do a good job of making anyone better.  So I'm not surprised he was let go.

Right...  Because we don't have anyone else that can get downfield and make big catches...
I like Walters. I hope he makes it back onto the team down the line. He's a dependable guy. Nothing flashy, but he gets the job done.

He is a guy you can count on to make the catch if the ball is within 3 yards of him. Sure-handed. A guy you want on the field when it's 4th and 6 in the 4th quarter.

Regards.................the Chiefjag

Walters? Just a guy. No big deal
He's a guy you wanna have a beer with
Can Rashod Hill do it?

Sure we do, but in case something happens to them, it's nice to know we have depth. Walters was depth for Rashad Greene as a slot WR and a PR, but that's hardly as important as depth for top guys.

I loved Bryon's hands, and his ability to always find that first down marker, but his talent is limited. You talk about the coaches failing to improve him, but he came here as an old dog, and old dog's don't learn new tricks. That is to say, Walters hit his ceiling as a player before we signed him.

Another mistake, Walters is a reliable receiver. Robinson should have gone before Walters, that dude is a waste of a roster spot.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter are furious

I'm with TA and a bunch of other posters. I'm a Walters fan. The guy was sure-handed. He's a good option to have on the field when they need a to convert a critical 3rd or 4th down late in a game.

Some fans are just too obsessed with speed. Jags already have AROB, Hurns, and JT on the field. Walters as a 4th option on critical downs just to make a reception (even if it's just past the 1st down marker) is a reliable safety-valve.

He'll be back though. When Lee keeps bobbing around passes every game, and eventually ending up with his annual "hammy" trouble, Walters will get called back up and find his self on the field for a few plays when needed.
Quote:Who likes receivers that can catch. Ew.

I mean he was only money on every single third down
You would think that Sullivan would have had some vote in this.

*shrugs*

Other teams didn't pay much attention to him and then *wham* he'd make a third down catch and give us a first.

Quote:54 man roster trick. I'm sure there's a wink-wink, nod-nod agreement with Walters and Dave.

Someone was right.
Quote:Arrelious Benn sucks, why not him?
Nah he doesn't. Benn is a huge part of special teams and the guy who usually downs Nortmans punts.
I think Walters is back to be Gus' whipping boy..

Loss in London? That damn Walters..
