I am guilty too.

This teams sucks real bad and we need a lot of help. Lawrence would be a big step in the right direction.
If you lose in the trenches you lose the game, you also get your skilled player injured.
The jaguars will jaguar the number 1 pick to someone else guaranteed. As bad as we have sucked the last decade you would think we would get the number 1 pick at least once. Will we ever? If not now when?

That said Fields is pretty good too.
I think it’s more likely we end up with fields
I don't like what I've seen from Fields. At least for now I like Lance better.
I think Lawrence and Fields will be the two preeminent franchise QBs in this years draft class.

Ideally, Lawrence would be the player we all covet, but Fields certainly has the skillset to become a great QB. His skillset translates better than Dwayne Haskins - who I wasn't too fond of coming out of the draft.
Yeah, I would draft Trevor Lawrence over fields for sure. I just feel like we end up drafting fourth or fifth, and end up trading up to second for fields, but the price will be too high to move up to one
I know we are not at the National Level as the Dallas Cowboys, but it seems like they make money by not winning any playoff games year after year. Maybe Kahn is looking at that and saying, why don't we do the same thing. I think we have an owner who JUST cares about $$ and not the team AND $$. This may be a long term issue (if it hasn't already). Unless Jacksonville has any local owner prospects with pride in this team, I don't know if we will get really far other than we did in 17. This, as a fan, saddens me.
The issue is not so much that Khan does not want to win. The issue is we are stuck in a bad equilibrium. We have not had a franchise quarterback in two decades, and we’ve had poor general management which does not draft top tier players. We need a fresh start with a whole new regime. Luckily, we have many high draft pick next year, and a healthy cap, so the foundation will be set for real progress.
Unpopular opinion, but I’m not sold as TLAW as the next Peyton. He’s damn good, but that LSU championship game was pretty ugly. I remember asking myself the whole time “This is the next Peyton?”. I guess we will see. I’m probably the only one in this boat.

For what it's worth, no you're not.

So you look at 1 game, the only game he's lost in High school or college and thats how you get yiu opinion on him?  What about every other game ?  He's like 80-1 or something since 9th grade, cmon man.  He has pretty much every tool and traight you want in a franchise  QB.

Can't really go on what they do in HS or college as the only determining factor, otherwise Tebow would be the GOAT. I'm kidding but only partially. He seems to me more of a classic drop back passer which isn't really where the league is headed these days.

I’m no scout, and by no means am I trashing him. I’m just saying, calling him the NEXT PEYTON... or even Andrew Luck for that matter because he was the last QB with such big expectations to me seems a stretch. That game, to me... that was the first time he played a real defense. An NFL type. Can he get better? Abbbbbbbbsolutely. I just saw shady accuracy. Clemson is loaded man, he has a cake walk every week his entire career. Ima have to judge based on his toughest games. I love TLAW, I just don’t know if I can put him in that Peyton/Luck category.. like most seem to.

He's better than Luck was coming out.  What about when he had 347 yards and 3 TDs to win the championship as a freshman, does that count?  Also, you keep bringing up Manning, did you know he was 0-4 against Florida?  Manning had some bad games in college as well.  Trevor has 1 loss in like 7 years of football lol

I’m not saying Manning the college QB, I’m also not comparing the two. It’s all over the media, the next Luck/Manning - a lock of a all pro HOF QB. That’s the expectations. I’m just saying in the biggest game he played he had shotty accuracy and I’m just not sure he’s a lock of a HOF player everyone is claiming he is. That’s all.

Yeah, I've seen that highlight. Even drop back passers can get free on a play here and there, especially in college. Just doesn't seem like tall skinny drop back passers are really where the league is going.
I hear you 2, nothing personal always a few negative nancys. So you would rather fields. You would take him at 1 over trevor? I will stick with trevor first. Fields is not a bad consolation prize. The guy is slippery.

And yet you seem happy to discount his " biggest game ever" the year before when he threw for 350 against Alabama in the title game. He's 1-1 in title games in 2 years, good enough for me.
