If they do, they should be strung up.
Especially after Field's awful performance in the Biig 10 Championship game.

Yes, that one was even worse than his performance in the Indiana game. I've only seen him play twice, and he sucked both times.

I saw him against Indiana and Northwestern. I understand those were his two worst games. It made me very sorry we had the #2 pick. Now, of course, I pray we can lose the next two games. Because I don't know what we would do with the #2 pick. There doesn't seem to be any clear cut 2nd best QB.

I'm not saying no one has an opinion. A lot of people have opinions. You have your opinion. But there isn't any clear cut consensus 2nd best QB in this draft.

Right now, I only have two questions for him.
1. Does he think Lawrence is the best player?
If the answer is "yes" then proceed to question 2.
If the answer us "No" then end interview.
2. What is his track record on drafting offensive linemen?
He's proven he can identify star caliber players at many positions WR, RB, DL, LB? Check. But to the best of my recollection, he's never been able to build a strong OL.

Belicheck is the absolutely worst drafter when it comes to WRs. By a long shot.
If Rick can draft all those other ones well, I’m good with it.

Zach Wilson, if he declares. Head and shoulders above the rest of the pack for #2 QB.

Give it a few weeks. I'm starting to see several analysts saying that Wilson has jumped Fields for that #2 QB spot. Those guys were originally on the Fields' train. After last night's performance and combine that with another subpar showing by Fields against Clemson, I believe Kiper, McShay and all the other draft guys will make Wilson that consensus #2 guy. It's only a matter of time. The cream always rises to the top.

Interview questions for potential GM candidates......
1. What do you do with the #1 pick?
If the answer is anything other than Trevor Lawrence, the interview is over.
2. What do you do with the LT situation?
If he even mentions bringing back Robinson, the interview is over.
3. What is you #1 priority after drafting Lawrence?
Any answer other than upgrading the O-Line, the interview is over.
4. What do you do about the current coaching staff?
If he even mentions retaining Marrone, Wash, Gruden, Warhop, Mcadoo or Danna, the interview is over.
5. How important is the future cap, when signing free agents?
I don't want a GM that's gonna put us in cap hell for future years, but I also don't want them to be cheapskates.

Having done a little research, I am reminded that he DID manage to draft Duane Brown at LT. I didn't see many noteworthy guards acquired during his Houston tenure, but generallt he hit on a LT-the most important position, and he found Brown at pick 26, which is around the spot where our Rams pick will likely fall. He seems to be the opposite of Caldwell.
He has hit really big on first round picks, though not every one, and for that matter, he hit on players at premium positions-QB Watson, LT Brown, Edge Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, J.J. Watt, Mario Williams, LB DeMeco Ryans).
But not so much with guards, CBs, and mid to late round picks.

This seems to be the case. I have gone back and watched the highlights of various players (a poor way to judge), and the way Zach wilson throws the ball is like a laser into pinpoint windows.

This is my impression as well. I do think that people can grow and learn, and he built the Texans into a winner. BOB managed to destroy his entire team immediately.

I will get into the occasional debate on Facebook, and almost always regret it.
Give me the guys and gals on this board any day of the week for football discussion/debate.
I may not agree with a given poster here on a given topic, but the posters here have substance behind their arguments.
Facebook? Mostly superficial analysis at best.
I think I might have debated that same guy who was harping on the college competition angle against...of all people...Trevor Lawrence,
After pointing out QBs like Warner (Northern Iowa), Favre (Southern Miss), McNair (Alcorn State), Flacco (Delaware), Big Ben(Miami OH) who went to/won Super Bowls that he would exclude from consideration, he would include washouts like Tebow, Wuerffel (UF) l and Jay Barker (Alabama), among others, he would include because they played in the SEC.
He had nothing to say.

I knew about Louis Riddick's tenure as a scout in a general sense, but I didn't know details.
I ran across this article detailing some of his drafts.
https://www.atlantafalcons.com/news/falc...is-riddick
I am still unsure as to how much credit to give him, and if I gave him all of the credit, I'm not sure how much I should like.
The three candidates thus far (Baalke, Smith, and Riddick) all have some good picks and all questionable picks.
Ot the three the team has spoken to, I'd rank them Smith, Baalke and Riddick in that order.
I'd like to see the team bring in Dorsey and the former Giant GM while TC was with the Giants, right off the top of my head, among others.

I really hope we bring in Dorsey. He has built the Chiefs and the Browns rosters for the most part. They were both teams at the bottom until Doraey got there and are now SB contenders. Dorsey might have some other issues but drafting and finding talent wasn't one of them. If he has other issues we need to find out what those are and address that before making the hire so it won't happen again whatever that may be
