I am 100% Greek, and I find all sororities and fraternities offensive. Ban em. ;-)

Solution right here...

Cleveland Foxwoods.

Or Cleveland Mohegan Suns.

Yea, they are CT casinos... but still two of the biggest.

The Cleveland LakesThatWereOnFire. Still sounds Native American and it's historical.

I also think that if snowflakes are "offended" or "shamed" because of a team name/mascot they need to get over it.  Nobody had a problem with the Redskins name for 80+ years.  It wasn't until today's PC culture (liberal snowflakes) that it became some kind of "problem".

There is no bigger snowflake on here than you.

Offended by name changes now...

LOL.  You are obviously one of the snowflakes that won't call the Washington Redskins by their name out of fear that it might offend other snowflakes.

Then again, I shouldn't be surprised... a Brit that doesn't even live in his (or her) own country...

For the record, I am not "offended" by snowflakes wanting to change a team name/mascot just to be PC.  I just sit here and laugh at the stupidity of it.
You sound quite offended. You also seem more offended when someone who lives on a different part of the same planet says something that offends you too.

I don't particularly care about the name of sports teams. The city they represent is what makes them who they are not cartoonish mascots/logos. Like in the EPL
Can we meet in the middle? Cleveland ‘Murica Indians?

You have a point. Mascots and nicknames are fun, but they're not necessary for sports.
If a mascot or a nickname starts being a source of controversy rather than fun, why keep it?
it's not like they're going to stop playing national american league baseball in Cleveland...

Edit reason: I don't remember which league is which

I mean..... it’s not their name though lol

Do you still call the Texans the Oilers? Or the Las Vegas Raiders Oakland Raiders?

Did you yell at that cloud again?

The tacks would be the oilers...
Would be a lot harder for teams to move if branding was made towards the city rather than unrelated logos like Jaguars.

Jacksonville Football Team much harder to move to London as they need a whole new name/logo/uniform etc so essentially become a new team with no history. Whilst can just plonk London in front of Jaguars and continue on as things are.

This is true.

Point remains though.

They’ve changed their name so there’s no reason to use their old name.
Evidently the Navajo Nation is who had been pushing for the Redskins to be changed. I wonder if they were pushing for this as well. The funny thing is, according to a couple of polls done in 2016..... (I didn't share the link to the WaPo article because it's behind a pay wall. The link and the following are in the article I did link to.)

A 2016 Washington Post poll found that the overwhelming majority of Native Americans were not offended by the name and indicated they would not be offended if someone called them that name.

The Post reported:

Nine in 10 Native Americans say they are not offended by the Washington Redskins name, according to a new Washington Post poll that shows how few ordinary Indians have been persuaded by a national movement to change the football team’s moniker.

Among the Native Americans reached over a five-month period ending in April, more than 7 in 10 said they did not feel the word “Redskin” was disrespectful to Indians. An even higher number — 8 in 10 — said they would not be offended if a non-native called them that name.
I think it's time for the women of Dallas to rise up in protest of a gender-specific team name.  They shall now be known as the Cowpeople.

And the cowboys the Texans.

The KC Chiefs started as the Texans...
Cowboys vs redskins will not have the same meaning. Good luck finding an epic replacement to the redskins logo.

Smh
this is stupid

we need to go ahead and repaint/rename the white house before too many people get offended. colors of the rainbow would accurately portray the clown show that is society now
I don't know what Cleveland will change their team name to, but just as a heads up, Shad Khan has already registered the naming rights to "Oh, no! We suck again!".
Welp, my kids will know about the Redskins and Indians and I am sure my grandkids will as well. If they are trying to erase our national history, they need to try a little harder.

Does our future look like the guy in the Uber Eats commercial?

Again? Shouldn’t that “as usual”?
