Quote:If we start out 0-3, 0-4 it won't be all on BB5's shoulders even though he'll probably be the down fault guy. Will it be because BB5 plays bad and or the team overall plays bad? Keep in mind of BB5's circumstances of having three OCs within four years and an makeshift OL since his arrival. I'm sincerely praying that BB5 is our QB for years to come. Continually starting over really is annoying.

NH3...

I'm praying for the same thing

I think it's coming to an end. I'll be glad when it does. Just bc of these types of topics, shows that he is not the guy.

I think it's more of a....fans are holding out hope bc right now he's backup material.

No.

It won't end with a draft pick.  It will end if he plays himself out of the job.

Love that movie!
Wait until TC calls you or replies to the MB on what the team should do.

Seriously. Give up on a QB after 2 seasons? One being great, the other sub par?

There must be some draft prospect QBs that are guaranteed sure fire Tom Brady's out there from what some think.

BB doesn't come across as a cerebral type QB. Having 3 OCs in his short tenure isn't helpful. Just my 2 cents.

What happens if Dak regresses this year? Dump him next year?
"In Tom We Trust"

I think Bortles is on an extremely short leash this season, and that gets even shorter if they draft a QB in the first two days of the draft this week.  If he begins the season as the starter and struggles at all during the first 3 or 4 games, my guess is that he gets pulled.  Tom has no allegiances to him, and won't hesitate to pull the trigger should he not show marked improvement as things ramp up.

Well said.

Even further in depth...what if he struggles all preseason, does he even start in week 1?

I kind of expect him to come in and look better in training camp and the preseason.  Vanilla defensive schemes will help with that in the preseason games.  If he's truly improved, we won't know for sure until the season starts and game planning is part of the equation.
If Bortles is the QB, we give up.
Quote:I know this topic comes up every year but it would seem this year IS the year we can ask this question.

So let's say Bortles starts out 0-3, what do we do? What about 0-4?

At 0-5, our season is over, so I'm not even gonna take it that far. Ok...how about 1-5 or 2-6? (If we win a game or 2 early in the season).

My prediction is if we fall 4 games behind the division leader, then we have to pull the plug. Even if that means putting Henne in there.
I don't see how Henne would have been much worse over the past 3 seasons. I think he could have won 11 games and we could have Khalil Mack.
Unfortunately for Bortles his first opportunity to show his real game "improvements" will be against Whitney Mercilus, JJ Watt, and Jadeveon Clowney coming to head hunt him.

Yea Houston is gonna throttle us week 1. You can bet the farm on a Bortles pick 6.

Week 2 vs the tacks is much more winnable.

First time I've heard of such talk, who is Bortles?

Mid way through 2016 season

That's what our fans would do, not Dallas fans. They actually have patience. Our fanbase likes to call for a player's head after one off year.
