I still can't believe we got both Bevell and Schottenheimer. I can't wait to see our offense next year. Going to be a lot of fun to watch.

This should be real interesting. It does tell me they are taking a calculated approach to the development of our new QB. Perhaps by having Brian in this position it will remove the need to have a "veteran" QB on the roster to counsel.  Also, could be good news for Minchew

It's just another title so you can hire someone without needing another teams permission. I want QB coach X but I already have an offensive coordinator and the other team will refuse to let me hire him as our QB coach, so create passing game coordinator elevated title and the other team can't refuse since it's technically a promotion.

According to your logic we could make titles for anything and take anyone without permission.

It is a game that they play. Usually it comes with it a pay raise, so the coach is happy.
