As for where I actually see him getting drafted, nothing changes. I had him going to the Niners before his workout and I still see him being taken there. I am assuming some team is gonna offer Trent Williams a ton of money to leave San Francisco. If the Niners retain Williams, I see Slater falling no further than one position where the Chargers would snap him up in a heartbeat. Right now I have......

#5 Cincinnati- Penei Sewell
#12 San Francisco- Rashawn Slater
#13 L.A. Chargers- Christian Darrisaw
#20 Chicago Bears- Teven Jenkins
#27 Baltimore- Alijah-Vera Tucker (could be used at OG or RT)
#39 Carolina- Liam Eichenberg
#42 New York Giants- Jalen Mayfield
#50 Miami- Samuel Cosmi
#53 Indianapolis- Dillon Radunz
#56 Pittsburgh- Walker Little

...biggest surprise for me here is that you don't see us taking any of these guys, or that we're left with a steaming pile by the time 66 rolls around. Ugh.

This is not how I would draft, but how I see things actually going. Right now, I have absolutely no confidence in this team to fix the OT's. I doubt we sign a FA OT or even select one until late in the draft. I truly believe we're gonna have Robinson and Taylor as our starting OT's in 2021 and Lawrence will miss several games due to injuries sustained by poor blocking.

I love Vera Tucker and if he’s there at 25, I would take him.
We met with Gowan that's cool.

Tay Gowan CB UCF. He's pretty good. I'd estimate a 3rd or 4th rd. CB, depending on his workout. He's a long corner at 6'2". He showed good cover skills with 2 INT's and 8 PBU last season starting 9 games at CB. I actually like him better than some of the bigger name CB's. I just don't know how fast he is. If he can stay under 4.55/40 I think he has a chance to get drafted a bit higher.

Thanks.

If they are considering him, maybe they are considering Grant and Robinson too.
I like Gowan better than Robinson. Not sure how I feel about Grant tbh. He obviously killed the senior bowl but he wasn't really very good during the season. I think people have overcorrected based on his senior bowl and he's going to get overdrafted.

agree with everything stated here. Really hope some other teams do the overdrafting, let the better guys fall to us!
Brugler's #1 sleeper Jacob Harris just destroyed his UCF pro day with several Jags coaches in attendance. Harris on day 3 >>>> any TE on day 2.

1. Jacob Harris, WR/TE, UCF (6-foot-5, 219 pounds)
A candidate to be the first scouting combine snub drafted in April, Harris is one of the more intriguing skill players in this year’s class. He grew up with dreams of playing professional soccer and committed to play collegiate soccer at Florida Gulf Coast. But Harris gave football a chance as a high school senior (with zero previous experience), and something clicked. He left Florida Gulf Coast after one week and spent one season at Western Kentucky as a walk-on. Harris walked on again at UCF and steadily developed into one of the team’s go-to threats, with eight touchdown grabs as a senior.

Harris plays with controlled burst and long strides to challenge defensive backs, and he flashes the potential to run the full tight end route tree. He is an older prospect — he’ll be 24 on draft weekend — and still young in football years, so there will be obvious growing pains in the NFL. But Harris is an ideal developmental tight end because of his size, athleticism and special-teams mentality (10 career tackles in college).

I don't think a person can be a TE at 219.

Put on 20 lbs and that's a good F TE size that Meyer said he was going for. 9.96 RAS eyeball emoji.

If he can put on 20 lbs he won't be the same player.

My thing is if we're going to do that, why waste another pick when we have Collin Johnson already on the roster?

I mean, I don't think we should do that with him, either, but if we are going to undertake such a project, use what we have already.

Johnson is slow, Harris is not.

Harris at 219 may not be slow.

Harris at 240?

I don't buy the whole Johnson as slow narrative, either.  His speed enabled him to average 15.1 YPC last year, and I think his frame would enable him to carry the weight.

I mean, Harris was 219 and Johnson was 222 at their respective weigh ins...and Harris was way, way faster. If you put ~20 lbs on each of them so that they would be F TE size I am sure that Harris would continue to be very much faster, yes.

Did johnson actually do drills?

Falcons exploring trade down?

I think it's due diligence more than anything else, but who knows? If they deal down, I don't think it'll be that far down. In fact, I think it would be with Denver.
