Who else is pumped to see what old Urban "I've got a headache, I think I need to retire" Meyer isn't ready for?

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31093341
fake headline.

Everyone expected this, but it looks like he adapted and made the most of it.
There's nothing in that article that paints Meyer in a bad light. I don't like the guy, but damn, at least get your facts right in your hatchet job headlines.

Everyone? The crazy part is Khan hired a guy to take control during the most critical years the team has had since inception and the guy has no clue about the NFL.

I want to believe the Jags can overcome that, but it looks to me like a case of if the team does well it will be because the coordinators are great, which opens the team up to having its actual leadership pulled out from under it.
Bad thread title is bad and you should feel bad

Everyone, who is reasonable, fully expected a coach with no NFL experience to encounter unfamiliar processes along the way.

This is not a big deal.

A lot of us saw this coming a mile away. He's "winging it" as he goes along.
I’m sorry, I’m not seeing an issue here. Obviously he has to learn things. He has more than enough support staff with experience where this is not remotely a problem.

And what he said was true, it is stupid to have to make multi million dollar acquisitions without having met or spent any time with the player. I mean that’s just common sense.
I don't even get what the problem is supposed to be from this column.
I'm sure most teams dealt with the same exact issue.

Looks like he handled it the best way any coach or GM could.

That he is unfamiliar with the NFL? lol

You wrote a completely deceptive headline.  On purpose.  That is not a good look for you.  You should know better.

Yeah, but a lot of us saw 'this' coming.

How is it deceptive? The guy thought free agency in the NFL was going to be like recruiting teenagers to go play for his college team.

As o-line said, he's probably winging this.

I remember when Reid was hired by KC in 2013 people on here knew he'd make that team successful because he was a great coach with a track record of NFL success. The Jaguars had the possiblity to make a move like that this offseason and instead hired a quitter with no NFL experience.

The logic being if you don't join in this unfounded Meyer condemnation, then you're one his acolytes.

He has surrounded himself with "NFL guys" and more than 1 player has said Meyer was the reason they chose to come play for the Jags. So yes, recruiting helps along with money.

Where exactly did Meyer say he wasn't prepared for it?  I see where the WRITER says it.  I see where Meyer doesn't agree with it.  I don't see anyone but the writer saying he wasn't prepared for it.

You either have very poor reading comprehension, or you are a liar.

"Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer knew free agency was going to be different from recruiting..."

So, does that say he thought it was going to be like recruiting, or that he knew it was going to be different from recruiting?
