Before we get started, I did put some criteria within the list. I think if you suited up and played 3 years and you made an impact within the organization then you should be eligible. And no punters or kickers made the list.

All stats mentioned will be discussed as they were in a Jaguar uniform. Calais Campbell had many sacks pre-jax but will be ranked as a Jaguar only...

I made a best Jaguar plays list, along with the best performances in Jags history. I also posted a thread about the best Tight End games in Jags history. I have been watching Jaguar football since day 1. Current Season ticket holder.

These lists take days to gather information so I hope you guys enjoy it. If you ask 100 fans where they would rank the players then you would get 100 different answers. This is just my opinion on where I think they rank all time...

Here we go!

25. Joel Smeenge - 34 sacks as a Jaguar which ranks 3rd all time in franchise history. Smeenge came over from the Saints back in 1995. He was a crowd favorite and everytime he got a sack the entire stadium would say Joel Smeeeeeeeengeeeeee!!!

24. Yannik Ngkouge - he played on the 2017 playoff team dubbed “sacksonville” and was a key piece to that playoff team. He finished his Jag tenure ranked 2nd all time in sacks with 37.5

23. Gary Walker - he still ranks 8th all time in franchise history with 22.5 sacks. Spicer has more sacks but Walker had 10 sacks as a DT In 1999. He had 5 sacks in 2000 and 7.5 in 2001.

22. Daryl Smith - most versatile LB in franchise history. He finished with only 6 ints and 39 pass break ups, but had 540 solo tackles which is 2nd in team history.

21. Paul Posluszny - made a Pro Bowl. He played 7 seasons as a Jaguar and ranks 1st in team history with 587 solo tackles.

20. AJ Bouye - made a pro bowl. 11 ints as a Jaguar. Was a vital piece to the “sacksonville” defense and made a game saving interception against the Chargers in 2017.

19. Telvin Smith - he only played 4 seasons and he was drafted in the 5th round. He’s probably one of the best late round picks in team history. He still holds the record for most ints returned for a TD in team history. He ranks 5th in solo tackles with 446 and he ranks 3rd all time in assists with 141....Daryl Smith is 2nd in assists with 142. For a guy that only played 4 seasons he would have retired on top of every defensive category in team history.

18. Mike Peterson - welcome to duval prepare to get hit! He played 6 seasons in Jax. He was apart of 2 playoff teams. He had 3 ints in 2003 and 2005. He was always up for discussion for the pro bowl and a reserve. He was a sure tackler in the middle.

17. Leon Searcy - played on 4 straight playoff teams and was the bookend to Tony Boselli. Leon was a tenacious run blocker and was the true blind side protector for Brunell in those early years. Searcy only missed 1 game as a Jaguar.

16. Kyle Brady - played 8 years as a Jag. Best year was in 2000 where he had 729 yards and 3 TDs. Elite blocker. Only scored 13 TDs. While Pete Mitchell scored 11 TDs, Brady gets the edge here due to his outstanding run blocking ability.

15. Kevin Hardy - he made 1 pro bowl and had 10.5 sacks in 1999. He was apart of 4 straight playoff teams from 96-99. Hardy is still the be  at OLB in team history.

14. Aaron Beasley - taken in the 3rd round, Beasley had his best year in 1999. That year he had 6 ints. He also led the league in int return yards that year with 200. Fun fact - did you know he had a sack in the Atlanta game during week 17...

13. John Henderson - made 2 pro bowls and finished with 29 sacks as a Jag which ranks 5th in team history. Did you know he has the most tackles for loss with 58.

12. Calais Campbell - after so many years on Brackens holding the sack record in a season of 12, Calais Campbell comes in as a free agent in 2017 and goes for 14.5. Fun Fact - Campbell had atleast 1 fumble recovery in all 3 seasons as a Jag. He also scored 1 TD and finished his Jag career with 31.5 sacks which ranks him 4th in team history.

11. Jalen Ramsey - 2 pro bowls as a Jag and 1 All Pro as a Jag. We’ve had very few All Pros. Right off the top of my head the only All Pros we’ve ever had was MJD Jimmy Boselli and Ramsey and Mathis...I could be missing 1, but Ramsey was a stud and part of “sacksonville” a CB that could break on the ball AND hit stick you.

10. Marcus Stroud - this big man is not talked about as much as his partner big John, but I always viewed Stroud as a stronger and more agile big man. He made 3 Pro Bowls and played on 2 playoff teams. 22 sacks as a Jag which ranks right there just below Gary Walker.

9. Rashean Mathis -  He was drafted in the 2nd round as a safety. Coughlin switched him to CB and the rest is history. He made 1 pro bowl and was also an All Pro in 2006 when he had 8 ints. Did you know he only had 1 sack? Still holds the all time int record in team history.

8. Donovin Darius - when he was ranked 15th or 16th in the other All 25 list I couldn’t stop laughing. Whoever made that list has never played a down of organized football in their life. This guy was a tone setter. I could remember us going to NY or wherever and their crowd would be very loud and into the game. And all of a sudden into the screen comes this teal colored missile and BOOM the crowd got quiet. This guy would knock himself out. It’s a shame he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for being a throw back player. Did you know he had 5 ints in 1999. He played on 3 playoff teams. He’s easily a top 10 all time Jaguar. He was a game changer and he played with violence. Anyone remember him clocking Bettis?

7. Keenan McCardell - made the pro bowl 2 times. He played 6 seasons in Jax and was apart of those 4 straight playoff teams. He still holds the single game receptions record with 16 which he did in 1996 against the then St.Louis Rams. We should have won that game but we lost 14-17 and Mark Brunell argued with the ref that he downed the ball. McCardell has made so many big time playoff catches in those early years.

6. MJD - he led the league in rushing with 1606. Made 3 pro bowls and 1 all pro. Still holds the record for most TDs all time. Still holds the team record for most yards in a game with 303 vs Indy in that 375 game. Was the face of the team for those “dead years”. I’ll never forget he was the RB3. Then Fred got hurt and then Greg tore his acl....in comes MJD as a rookie and rushed for 13 TDs and gets cheated out of the rookie of the year by Vince Young.

5. Tony Brackens - drafted in the 2nd round, Brackens held the team record for sacks in a season for soooo long. Did you know he had 5 ints? In 1997 Baltimore was winning 17-14 late in the 2nd half....Brackens dropped into coverage and picked Banks’ pocket for a pick 6 to put us in the lead and we never looked back. Brackens only made 1 pro bowl. He had 27 Forced Fumbles which ranks 1st, and still holds the team record of 55 sacks. He was also apart of 4 playoff teams.

4. Mark Brunell - best QB in team history. 4 straight playoffs. 3 pro bowls. Led league in passing in 1996. Led QB in rushing in 1996. Was compared to Steve Young in his early years. Shoulda played 3 more years here..

3. Fred Taylor - 1 pro bowl. But should have had more. Retired 17 on the all time rushing list. Had big run after big run. Led the league in longest runs at the age of 32. 90 yarder vs Miami in the playoffs. Missed 36 games as a Jaguar and 55 for his career. Boy what could have been. Best runner in team history and will probably never be surpassed.

2. Jimmy Smith - fun fact...did you know he didn’t play his 1st game of pro football until he was 26 years old. He didn’t become a full time starter until 27 years old. I feel like Jimmy made the most of a comeback of any player in the history of the league. Dallas drafted him in 1992 and didn’t want anything to do with him. He almost gave up. In comes his mom who showed Coughlin his tape, he gets a tryout and makes the team. Returned a kickoff for a TD on special teams. Works his way up to the starter at WR. Then becomes the best WR in team history. Retires as a 5 time pro bowler and had his best game against THE BEST DEFENSE OF ALL TIME...The 2000 Ravens he posted 15 receptions for 291 yards and 3 TDs. He’s on the all time WR list as well. 9 straight seasons with 1,000 yards.

1. Tony Boselli - you know it’s easy for the casual fan or even younger fans to say MJD or Jimmy or Fred is the best player in team history....But all that tells me is they weren’t around for 1995 and 1996. Our first time ever making the playoffs. Bruce Smith vs the kid was all we heard about. Smith was a future Hall of famer and the defensive player of the year. All Tony did was flat out embarrass him. He didn’t just play good...he flat out dominated Bruce Smith. Then he continued his dominance against Jason Taylor during that Sunday Night game. He chased down a CB in 1999 which saved a TD. He was 6’7 323 pounds. He used to be on signs in Burger King, he was always hyping the team up. He played with his hair on fire every single play. He was the 1st pick of the team. Fun Fact - only player to be drafted first overall 2 different times. Jax and Hou

Guys that didn’t quite make it but we’re considered:

Vince Manuwai
Brad Meester
Paul Spicer
Chris Naeole
Hollis - kicked more big time playoff FGs imo
Lambo - best kicker but no big time playoff moments
Scobee just played a long time. Colt killer
Pete Mitchell - 11 TDs
Marcedes Lewis - 10 TDs in 2007
Deon Grant - one of the best FS
Carnell Lake - only played 1 season in Jax
Deon Figures - not enough time in Jax
James Stewart - had a better career in Detroit
Poz and Darryl are too low for my liking but the top 10 is where it started to make sense for me.,
Good list. Man we have been very thin on offensive play as a franchise.

Just doing some research, but....

Bryan Barker, 1997: 1st Team All Pro
Kevin Hardy, 1999: 1st Team All Pro
Carnell Lake, 1999: 2nd Team All Pro
Leon Searcy, 1999: 2nd Team All Pro
Marcus Stroud, 2003: 2nd Team All Pro
Mike Peterson, 2005: 2nd Team All Pro
John Henderson, 2006: 2nd Team All Pro
Fred Taylor, 2007: 2nd Team All Pro
Marcedes Lewis, 2010: 2nd Team All Pro
Telvin Smith, 2017: 2nd Team All Pro
A.J. Bouye, 217: 2nd Team All Pro
Calais Campbell, 2017: 1st Team All Pro
Josh Lambo, 2019: 2nd Team All Pro
Great list and idea. Will need a bit of time to think and read about.

One quick question, are you ranking players in terms of pure talent or by how big of an impact they had for us. Or a mix of both?

For example I think in terms of pure talent, Ramsey should be high, I have plenty of issues with him but hes one of the most naturally gifted players I've seen. But Poz did 10 times as much for us as he did.

Thanks.
Awful list (what a surprise).

Naeole and Manuwai not in there is complete joke while Brady, Ngakoue, Bouye are there. Also some of them are too low.

Thanks man. I ranked them on the impact they made on the field.

@NC thank you for that list. I was speaking of 1st team all pro.

I attempted to say OK who is in the top 5 all time. Then I said ok, whose the top 10...etc. I didn’t feel like Poz or Smith was quite in that top 10 category. So I tried to fit them the best I could.

I will admit they could easily be higher. Daryl played inside, outside, middle and was a staple on that defense. Poz always seemed to be in on the tackle and hardly ever missed one.

I thought Mike Pete was a little more exciting to watch, but that doesn’t take anything from Paul or Daryl. I remember up in Indy, Pete made a diving interception on Peyton Manning and it was one of the best acrobatic type interceptions.

Maybe I could put both of them in front of Bouye?

I saw this post while looking at the board on my phone where I'm not logged in. Then I said to myself, "I hope the OP has this person blocked." So I logged in to express that... then realized I have you blocked... haha... I mean, even if you disagree with the list you don't have to call it awful. It took more time and thought than your reply. Offer up some real critique not this garbage.

To the OP:

I enjoyed reading the list and disagreed at a few points, but thank you for taking the time to present this to us. It's appreciated by the adults.

And I should waste my time explaining obvious things because?

Gotta love how people block other people but still love to talk about them lol

O.P. obviously took a lot of time and effort to put together his list and you just crapped on it.  Not nice.

Now that you point that out, you’re right. Trevor Lawrence hopefully adds his name to the list of Jaguar Greats.

Thank you Trivial Pursuit. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks scottyg

Looking back on it, I think Brady and Bouye should be ranked behind Daryl Smith and Paul Posluszny.

I’m glad you guys are liking it.
Its pretty sad that our all time team imo would still get slapped by the current chiefs

I don’t about that one ChrisJagBoy.

Brackens in his prime was such a disrupter. He would put their OTs on skates. Marcus Stroud and Big Hen in the middle. Mike Pete calling out the assignments. And the tone setter Darius would hit Hill so hard across the middle that he would do a back flip.

Over on offense Jimmy Smith would go to work with Mark Brunell and Kennan working the sticks. Freddy T would cut back for 60 off Tony Boselli’s pancake.

I think we would crush them with all of our greats in their prime. Jimmy was on another level.
Boselli brought a nastiness that we havent seen since he left. If Brunell was hit late #71 was in that guy's face. He didnt get mad, he got even. TB is absolutely #1 Jaguars player.

Idk mahomes can match brunells most tds in a season in like 4 games lol
Ramsey and Yannick should not be on the list.  Yannick wasn't even a dominant player in his position.

Tom Coughlin was obsessed by balanced run and pass balance. TC handcuffed Burnell. Brunell in his prime with the current rules would have better numbers.

I mean Jimmy Smith had an 1800 yard year I believe so i'm not so sure that's why.
