There is less that a year's age difference.
Mileage then? Eifert feels like he's been around a lot longer.
Personally, I don't have any 'disdain' for him. It just feels like Eifert is on the downside of his career, while O'Shag feels more like he was just starting to play pretty well before his last injury, and could potentially still be improving. In reality, I'm not sure I expect a whole heck of a lot out of the position this year at this point... We'll need to get our receiving mis-matches elsewhere.

My expectations were higher for Eifert as a former 1st round draft pick and pro bowler, so, unfortunately, he had further to fall compared to O'Shag. For the right price though, I would still bring him back to be no worse than the 3rd TE on the roster.

That's more of an error in your perception than how he played. The guy was in one Pro Bowl, five years prior to the Jaguars signing him. He barely played from 2016-2018.

You know O'Shaugnessy blew out his ACL in 2019, right?
He's got mileage too.

Yes, granted it was a serious injury, but James has had just one injury in his NFL career. Eifert has been injured at least a dozen times.
