Given the performance of the rooks to this point in camp, has anyone's perception of the draft class changed? Do you think Urban may actually know what he is doing?
I personally think this has a real good chance to be the rookie class that completely changes the direction of the franchise.
This is an intriguing question-one truly worthy of detailed and nuanced discussion.
Sadly, because I have not attended any practices and have only seen limited clips, and have only read various write ups or radio accounts about what has transpired in camp thus far, the validity and accuracy of my responses are to be taken with a gigantic boulder of salt.
I'm not certain my perception of the draft has changed just yet.
Immediately after the draft:
1. I was stoked we had Trevor Lawrence. nothing has changed my mind about that.
2. I was happy with the Etienne pick and felt he was a talented player, but was apprehensive about how he will be utilized. That hasn't changed.
3. I was disappointed with the Campbell pick...not because I was anti Campbell per se, but I thought the team needed to invest in a T and Ts were on the board. To the limited degree I've read good things about Campbell, I feel a little better...but not much.
4. I liked the Little selection and felt outside of TL, he could easily be the most important draft pick in this class, and perhaps many classes. That opinion hasn't changed. I am still uncertain as to how long it will take him to shake off the rust, and how long he will take to become a quality starter at LT. That remains unchanged, though the camp reports I have read are encouraging.
5. I was pretty happy with the Cisco pick. I liked what I had seen of him in college. i like what I have read and heard of Cisco since camp has started.
6. Jay Tufele-Thought he might have been a decent value at the top of the 4th, but didn't do too much research on him pre draft. I have heard and read about his array of moves beyond the basic bull rush and that has been a source of encouragement.
7. Jordan Smith-Seemed underwhelmed by the pick when it was made. Have seen/heard nothing to change my mind.
8. Luke Farrell-Had no opinion of him immediately post draft. Nothing has changed my mind yet, as he has not been the subject of too much of the analysis.
9. Ja;en Camp-no opinion pre or post draft.
Moral of the story is right now, I don't have enough information at this point to have changed my mind about the draft class or about Urban Meyer and co.
