If he gets "shell shocked" then he wasn't the right guy anyway.

Yup, can't coach scared and can't play scared, nothing good comes from either.

And this bogus "oh what if he gets hurt" crap that some people bring up is a cop out excuse. It's football.. Sometimes players get hurt, it's the nature of the game. Of course we don't want it to happen, but you can't use that as a reason to handicap the kid and coddle him. I mean Bridgewater pretzel'd his knee in a non contact practice.. Should we not let Lawrence practice either because there's a possible risk he could get hurt there also?

You play the kid and don't look back. Otherwise, why did you take him #1..

Short Sited! Just because you take him 1st overall does not mean you have to play him day 1.  Most #1 QB's ever taken started their career on the bench.  I guarantee you that the Bengales wish they would of reconsidered their decisions.  They had Burrow passing a lot in that offense with a bad team.  He didn't last very long in the season.   Meyer has made his decisions and Trevor is going to start the season.   Lets hope the running game really catches fire or we could be in the same situation the Bengals are in.  Lawerence got beaten up really bad in a preseason game where everybody is not playing 100%.   We better hope that is not a prelude of this season.

Meyer and his staff are mostly to blame for this situation.  They bring back the same mediocre Line and expect them to automatically be better.

There's been 25 QBs taken #1 overall. 19 of those started game 1 of their rookie season...

You play the best players. Period.

Lawrence is by far the best QB on this team and gives them the best chance to win.

Now hopefully Urban takes some advice from Dan Orlovsky and lets Trevor be aggressive.

I can admit when I am wrong and in this case I was.  Beside that, the list of 25 drafted in the Superbowl era looks overall Bad for the most part.

Here is a prime Example of what I am talking about in my original post.

On this play, the offense can't get anything going, numerous three and outs, Lawrence gets frustrated and takes off. He is a competitor and will take the hit for the hard yards. The Problem is, he can't play a full season taking hits like this. In fact, Watch this video around the 4 second mark. Lawrence becomes a 1/4 second of a defender smashing right into his knee. This could of been game or career over. Watch this and you decide

If they sat Lawrence to protect him, they would instantly lose the locker room.

Can't be done.

"Hey guys, Lawrence is your best shot at winning this year but we don't think the rest of y'all are good enough to play with him so we'll play the next best guy until we get real players. Have fun!"

It's not like you were banging the drum for some unknown prospect who ended up an All-Pro or called the team cutting their top-5 RB to roll with a UDFA RB or anything groundbreaking like that. Most everyone here was arguing that JDR was aggressively meh, Gene spent more effort on small school picks than nailing his first rounders, Dave overvalued need, blah blah blah.

Yay you, I guess.

Wrong!  I normally had the statements a year or two before others.  I get insulted and a year or two after the fact they share my view. I was wanting Gene bone after the second year and got called every name in the book, Dave after year 3, JDR after year 3, again I was insulted heavy by loyal blind fanboys like you appear to be about my "negative opinions".    I am right in about every case. I am a dire hard fan but going to call this team out on the bad decisions they are making.   How about we look at it from your angle!

This team is fantastic,  they are doing a great job, what a superbly run franchise.  Every team should be like the Jacksonville Jaguars,  The Jaguars are contenders from this point.   Sounds ridiculous right?

This team can go up or down from the point they are at.  It's not looking promising so far.

For being the visionary that you claim to be, you missed severely on my angle.

You should know by now I've dumped on the team from the moment Urbz was considered a frontrunner for the job. I ridiculed he and Baalke for even bothering to waste time on Teebs. I criticized our ineptitude in the darft, Urbz hiring an old friend who quit on this very team in his last stint, Urbz hiring a different old friend stuck in the middle of legal issues surrounding his last job, retaining our line coach and the list goes on. I've countered plenty of naysaying, yes, but I've also refused to pull punches when I feel strongly against something the team has done, too.

I'm not pumping rainbows out my backside. I'm also not dishing out doses of "realism" and telling people I refuse to entertain any logical reasoning why my perceived reality might be a bit skewed, as you did in your original post.

Were you so clear in your reality, you'd see that this was what initially drew criticism. Only then did you start bragging about how gifted you were at predicting failure. I've still yet to hear one example where you predicted success in a fit of clairvoyance.
