Right now, they are a stumbling block, but they are only half of the big picture and they could steer from crapfest to "not horrible" by season's end.
Personally, I want them gone but i bet they get next year to prove themselves or fail.
I agree 100%. Khan is not gonna fire Urban/Baalke this season or probably next season, no matter how bad we finish. We could end the season 1-16 and they are still gonna be retained. That's just Khan's modus operandi and he's not not gonna admit he was wrong, just after declaring "he finally got it right", when he hired these two. If anything, he's gonna keep them around too long and set the team back another year or two. That's just what he does.
I'd wager Khan has learned to have a shorter leash by now, but i just don't think it's "one year" short.
Urbz won't get Gus Bradley struggle allowances IMO.

regardless of whether he got hurt he was a wasted pick. We had an RB on the roster that just set UDFA rookie records, brought in the coach's ol' pal who previously quit on the team, and have 2-3 guys who could serve the same role as the guy we spent a pick on. We spent $21M on a twitchy, gadget-style returner who could mimic Etienne's role as well. It was a bad pick, even if the kid was still healthy and sitting on the bench like every other rookie not named Trevor.
Unless he makes JRob, Viska and/or Agnew expendable, it was a bad pick.
Period.
Exactly right.

I'm not entirely sure he's earned the handshake.
Hard to judge a rookie hurt in preseason. I’m more keen to judge on the pick of Campbell over Asante Samuel jr.

1 win and people deserve more credit? lol
We will probably disagree about the late round value for RB picks, but I think we should give time for this one to be fair. If Etienne becomes a Kamara like stud (heavy pass game usage, line up at WR and catches the ball) then I will be happy. We may have Robinson, but we hardly use him in the passing game; I think we should more but if the previous scenario happens, we can keep robinson more fresh on passing down next year which would be nice.

Baalke deserves the kind of credit they sell at Aaron's.

It's called watching him play the last 4 years. There's a reason he is the ACC all time leading rusher and done it behind a oline that wasn't very good. He has pretty much everything you want out of your back. He's fast, explosive, good blocker, and was the best receiving back in college last year. What part of his game do you not like? He wasn't who I wanted because we have Robinson but I know he's a great back from watching him play at Clemson the last 4 years
The part of his game I don't like is his 3rd round value.

That's a different argument, nobody said anything about value. I said he's a great back. The 10th highest rated player is a 3 round value? Ok lol

Dude... he was a 3rd round talent.
Now? With the injury he had? He's a 7th round, border line UDFA talent.
Robinson is heads and shoulders above what he could ever have been anyway. Proved it in the NFL.

And JRob was a UDFA, because good RBs can be found throughout the draft, you don't need to waste premium picks on pedestrian positions.

So True !! Just look at Cowboys Tony Pollard 4th round pick out of Memphis in 2019 who most could argue is actually better than Zeke right now, who was drafted with the #4 pick in round 1.

Of all the dumb moves made by the FO, this was the most egregious. Baalke has been here, he knew what we had. Unless Etienne can function more in the role as a utilityman, it was an utterly squandered pick. Even if that is the case, we still lost tremendous value.

For a 5th round TE, he made the 53 and has been active and a contributor in all games thus far this season. I am not promoting him as an all-star....just labeling him a contributor.

Even if he's good it was a bad pick. Jrob is a bad man. We didn't need first round RB.
TE, OL, pass rusher, LB, or DB would all have been a better pick.
It wasn't about ETN it's about roster management. They are bad at it

money still be green last time I checked. Sure we might miss on the last gasp free agent looking to sign somewhere to get a ring, but we can get the last laugh when we knock them out of the playoffs in 2023

I don't know if anyone called it a crap pick although a lot of people questioned the value at that point. I still do although when he's healthy the one two potential of Robinson and ETN is intriguing as hell.

So?
Well, if he is an "elite RB" like you said why was he drafted to be a gadget player? if he is an "elite RB" we can expect him to steal the starting RB position from Robinson next year and have a similar stats to Elliot in his first year, or Barkley, or AP.
