1. Many people hated the fact that the Jaguars drafted MJD because we had Fred Taylor. That worked out.
2. Many people are all for the best available player approach. ETN may have not been on your BAP list but Urban knows college players better than you or I. You can't grade ETN as just a usual RB because it was clear he was going to be a much broader part of this offense before the injury. Viska has taken on his role but no disrespect to VIska, ETN is a much more explosive player. I could easily see him having a monster year for us in the short/intermediate routes in the passing game.
1. Fred was 7 or 8 years into his career when we darfted MJD, that was absolutely a future-minded pick. I dunno how many hated that pick (that board doesn't exist any more and my memory ain't THAT good). Not the best analogy here.
2. I'd assert that Agnew is acting in the role we'll see Etienne play once he's recovered. I want to say last year Shenault was seeing snaps from the backfield, ends around and things like that, but this year they're using him a lot more as a traditional receiver, especially after Chark got hurt.
Yeah, almost like they have no understanding of the skills of the guys already here. Between the QB competition, the lack of JRob, and not using LS10 as the utility guy early on...they just don't seem to be able to accept the obvious.
