It's pretty clear that Urban Meyer has to go. The team in some ways beats itself.
Too many "shoot yourself in the foot" penalties that allow the opponent to continue drives as well as the lack of creativity with play calling.
The team is an embarrassment and it's not because of the players.

I don't think that's in doubt. The expansion team won 4 games which seems doubtful for this year's team. The expansion team also played much more competitively in their losses. The expansion team only lost one game by 20+ points and that was in a game where their starting quarterback couldn't play due to injury. This team has already lost 4 games by 20+ points with more opportunities still on the schedule.
Bucky Brooks on 1010 saying he's never seen an offense play this atrociously and doesn't know what to tell Jags fans. That's from someone who is usually upbeat and has a discussion for everything.
We're more rock bottom than in the Gus Bradley era, and I didn't think that would ever be possible.

My main takeaway is this: From an identity standpoint, & overall approach to roster construction, this team has been chasing the formula of 2017 when they SHOULD be chasing the formula of 2007!!!!! That team lacked playmakers at WR, had a consistent TE threat in Lewis, and a 2 headed rushing attack behind a road grading Offensive line with a great interior and just above average play at the tackle spots from Barnes & Pashos. On Defense they had great CB play in Mathis, solid Safety play, a deep and consistent LB core and a DLine that could stuff the run but was a little lean on pure pass rush.
On This team has a lot of similar pieces to the 2007 team. Robinson & Etienne can be that 2 headed rushing attack. Dan Arnold is a consistent Receiving threat (with better hands but less blocking) like a prime Marcedes Lewis was. Cam Robinson is like a very rich man's Khalif Barnes. On Defense Shaq Griffin can fill the Rashean Mathis role but not quite on 'shean's level, Tyson Campbell seems to be growing into a Brian Williams type player at the other Corner spot, and Josh Allen is the edge threat that the 2007 team lacked, I still think our DT's can be on the level of the 2007 squads but our LB corps overall is rather weak and is the main problem with the Defense.
In short, we should try and build a team in the mold of the 2007 Jags, and throw all our resources into getting Offensive Line, & LInebackers. Wide Receiver and Pass Rusher are still needs but I think this team won't be able to be effective until there is a massive influx of talent in those 2 areas.
From both a tlant and contractual standpoint, you can argue OL should be the top priority of this team. I thought, drafting TL aside, that OL should have been our top draft priority this past offseason
Cam Robinson has been less than stellar throughout his stay here, though this year represents improvement for him. He is playing on a one year franchise tag.
Norwell has played well generally despite his vomit inducing play today, but negotiated his contract so he can be a free agent after this year.
Brandon Linder has played well for us, but is getting up in age and can not stay healthy.
Cann hasn't been that good, and I think he's gone after this year anyway because I think the team will stick with Bartch another year.
Taylor has been absolutely horrid.

Me either.
As I have said before, normally, I emphasize patience when it comes to new coaches.
But there are way too many red flags to justify keeping UM another year.

Khan needs to clean house, I don't care if it's to put Tony in charge of personnel, or what, but change has to happen. You can't have a guy like Urban in charge, or Trevor will become some team's Brees in five years.
Dude you have to be Helen Keller because we did not see the same game. Lawrence was horrible all game long
Norwell got eaten alive by Simmons today. 3 holds and they still did nothing to neutralize him. We had 7 yds rushing. TN DL destroyed the Ol.

LMFAO but so true. He is a proud member or many of the Trevor Lawrence defense force.

And you’re a member of the Trevor Lawrence attack squad. See, games are fun!
I guess the biggest concern about Meyer shouldn't have been him quitting on us, but rather him not quitting on us. C'mon Meyer. I'm sure you can get a doctor to say that you have a heart condition and take another gig on some sports show.
Justin Fields is gonna be a star in this league. I think he may turn out to be the best QB in this class in a few years. We drafted the wrong guy.

Fields and Jones. They look much better than Lawrence and its not even close.

thier offense and WR look years beyond ours but still think his talent is over theirs

This is tiresome. Stop with the Lawrence bust nonsense. Fields has a team and Jones come on he has Belicheat. Stop being stupid.

The Bears are my home team / my NFC team. He looks solid, but his first TD was essentially a handoff. The other was the WR doing all the work on a short pass.
The INT was bad... and he has fumbling issues.
Sometimes he looks really good, sometimes he looks quite bad. Just typical rookie season. Hopefully he becomes consistently good.
yeah I think Jones has gotten the proper early mentorship, and it is really paying off. He appears to have a bright future ahead. I think next year will be Trevor's breakout year, as long as we have an amazing offseason (fire Urban, go big in free agency and draft offense). Im a fan though, so a lot of this is obviously just blind hope. It's hard to have faith anything like that would happen, given how bad things are right now.
I’m so glad we have Meyer, cus we can blame him as much as we can, so we don’t have to blame Trevor

I'm on twitter and i'm seeing a ton of people already proclaiming Trevor a bust.
44 year old Tom Brady had twice as many yards rushing today as the entire Jaguar team.

To be frank, if it means UM has to drop dead for a change to be made, then so be it.

These are the kind of takes that come back to haunt you years later. I think Lawrance has all the tools to be much better than either of those players. Even if the jags cant put a team good enough to show it around him.

Agreed. Fields had some pretty bad throws in the 2nd half. The completions he made were usually quite high, the WR's had to work for them. Luckily he has WR's who can actually catch the ball (for the most part)
