It’s time to draft a center.

Zach Tom at 106 sounds like an awfully good plan.

That would be fantastic. He could also play OT, if needed. I like the flexibility a player of his caliber would offer us.

I hope that they decide to keep Linder for one more year as a stop gap.  While I like Shatley as a backup, I think he is a backup.  I do think there is a drop-off from Linder to Shatley.  We would also lose depth as there is no one to backup Shatley or our two guards.   I think we are likely to find a good replacement center in the draft, but I hate tying our hands into having to draft certain positions.

I agree with this. It appears to me they want to do this the way they are delaying any decision, unlike other players.  I don't see them releasing him unless they find they need the cap space to sign someone they can't do without.

Ive been saying this for a couple of years. I like do like Linder, but he's getting up there in years plus injuries, and we should have his replacement on the roster a year or two before we need him to start

Ive been saying this for a couple of years. I like do like Linder, but he's getting up there in years plus injuries, and we should have his replacement on the roster a year or two before we need him to start

This team has been so historically bad, they can’t keep anyone long enough to have a “Jar on the Shelf”

nothing on his contract is guaranteed, so cut or retire, we save the full amount on this year's cap. There's not even signing bonus to prorate or account for, this was a VERY team-friendly deal.

The Jags should move regardless of his decision, the article said they're cutting him.

I think if he retires, he gets to have a quick presser at team HQ and enjoy riding off into the sunset.

If we cut him, he gets to spend a week not fielding calls and retirement appears a begrudging reality instead of his own choice. It's a hat-tip on behalf of the team if he wants to retire as part of the team.

Linder contributed greatly to the extreme success that the Jags have had over the course of his 8-year career here.

I'd love to sign Linderbaum but he'll go the first day, no doubt.

Agreed he will go in the 1st round.  Jags will need to move back into the1st round to get Linderbaum.  Such a need, Our 2nd and first 3rd should get them in position.

I just heard it on the radio as well.

Eff it, trade the #1 with more picks we have this year to get even better draft picks to get more offensive linemen. We need some younger guys to replace some of the vets that are up there in age

This is almost a consensus at this point.

Trade down and gather more picks to select more Olineman and a #1 WR.
