Who's up in arms? This is basically a non-news story. Just someone else in the front office for Baalke to reign over. Who cares?
This is that Hire so Someone is ready to replace balkie, so there doesnt have to be a search. Jags can just promote this guy. Easy jags move.

Khan is never gonna fire Baalke.

I'm pretty sure it was him or someone else.  At least that's what's coming up on my Bing searches.

Now we know you're joking.

You're confusing everyone.  They hired Ethan Waugh of the 49ers and not Adrian Wilson of the Cardinals.  Ethan Waugh has no connection to Byron Leftwich.

my goodness the whooshes just keep coming.

y'all got J-dubbed or something here.

Mebbe deebo and he are best buds, and he'll work here for vet minimum, too!

Mission accomplished.  I was bored.

A couple of posters immediately went into bashing Khan and the usual whine fest about why they didn't get the EVP they were promised. Just think it's funny that the hiring of some front office stooge is enough to get some panties all knotted up. You're right it's non news news. There is no hire in the front office e between now and next off season that is likely to get me excited or bummed, yet some can find any reason to get upset lol
Balkie was asked about this in the press conference, and he said this is not true. He said they are looking to add some front office after the draft but not this guy. So who knows.

Promised an EVP above Baalke and an assistant GM below him to keep him reined in, wind up with one lackey below him.

I would expect absolutely nothing else from Khan.

Yeah. Felt that was what was going to happen when Khan was questioned during the introduction press conference of Doug Pederson. He paid the fanbase a bunch of lip service, however, he's a billionaire with an ego, and, he's not going to let public or popular opinion sway him. Would be seen as a sign of weakness. I get it from that perspective.

Unless the other 31 owners or some of the owners went out on his yacht or went out for a round of golf with some drinks involved and told him the truth. I don't see him budging.

Also, it's unlikely any of the owners would really go out of their way to help him as it only benefits their own team in the long run if the majority of the teams have a massive turd in the punch bowl swimming around it.

Ultimately. Like I said. And a lot of us already know. This team's fortune hinges on the success or failure of Pederson/Lawrence. It'll either be a match made in heaven that maybe nets this team is an amazing 10 year run of up's and down's with mostly up's and play-off runs with some heartbreaking losses or a gritty SB victory (maybe two, three, a man can dream) or it's going to be a [BLEEP] train wreck.

I don't think Baalke's role or any additional personnel's role should have a devastating effect on Pederson and Lawrence. I expect both of them to rise above it all.
I would like to add to my earlier post, I am glad he's here. By all accounts he's good at what he does. It's better than not having him by a large margin.

It just doesn't satisfy the promise of adding staff to help keep Baalke in check.
Seeing good buzz about Waugh from a few reporters out there including this Jags beat reporter:
