PFT actually has been hinting at this as well.

Hoping it’s smoke to try and get a team panicky and [for them to] trade up
Clickbait article

The surprise pick will be hutch
Watch the team throw a real curveball and draft Jameson Williams #1 overall. Personally, I'd be happy with that pick.
Most experts can agree that this draft is really hard to mock. SO many players that are so close in talent it's up to the organizations to determine what they value more.

The fact that Khan has an opinion, scares me. He seems to know very little about football.

I agree with you, but based on the fact that i've seen people on this board make better mocks than what we end up actually taking most every year I don't know that the actual football guys know much about football either.

You're "scared" that the owner of a billion dollar business has an opinion about critical personnel decisions within his business??

I'd be more concerned if he didn't.

That's what scores of posters here have said in recent years.
"He doesn't care about winning" has been posted here a million times, and it's an inane premise.
Of course he does, and of course he has an opinion on the #1 pick.

Didn't 10% of his fanbase just carry out a months long campaign to convince him to fire his GM?
Should he react to that by just letting that GM make a critical decision without oversight?
If these leaks are accurate, who is leaking them?

I don't see how it benefits anyone in the organization other than to further cement to the media and the average fan that the Jags are a poorly run franchise. And you if are working for this franchise you also get colored with that same brush.
I will be the only one who won't be surpised by jags first pick. I'm expecting them to take a qb even though jags have Trevor.

they will either take a postion they don't need,or a player no ones talked about nor heard of. its what jags do.  they only took Trevor last year cause if they didn't they would be more of a laughing stock then the browns when they took Manzial

So exactly who would they pick?

The stocks for qb this draft are very thin arent they?

This! Last few years, the guys I wanted turned out better than who Caldwell picked. I wanted Jefferson and Tampa’s tackle. I watched some college football, read some draft guides. I didn’t need to conduct interviews with coaches, attend the combine, etc. but I can draft the first round better than Caldwell and Gene Smith and Baalke. I’d bet on myself in Vegas. Rest of the draft, no, but first round I win most of the time because I go consensus and trust my eyes. Not trying to be cute or smartest guy in the room.

I bet Khan could draft the first round better than Baalke and Caldwell after picking the brains of a few NFL personnel guys. Most of us could. I hope he’s getting involved to break the tie between Pederson and Baalke in favor of Pederson, who he wants to succeed. He’s getting flak from NFL circles for Baalke, and he doesn’t want to be embarrassed again. That’s my “leak.”
My gosh who they will actually pick is anyone's guess. My only hope is whomever they pick has played the position they are picking him for. Please no more taking a QB and making him play WR. I have to give them credit, they have provided the material to set a record for a ton of click bait articles. The WWE couldn't write this script any better.
I'm not believing the hype.  I still think they are taking Hutchinson.
Let's be honest it's Jameson Williams. The culmination of the Trent Balke ACL fetish arc, the one that actually works. He finally proves torn ACL prospects are the right move, and he finally dosen't miss on a WR. It's the perfect oppurtunity!

That actually would NOT be one the worst outcomes.

I'm almost wishing this to be true. God knows we probably won't find a #1 receiver later in the draft. Williams would be a perfect fit for us. If we could somehow manage to trade down, he'd be ideal, but I'm coming around to the idea of drafting him #1 overall as well.
If chase was in this draft, I would take him #1, so why not Jameson Williams? To be honest, I will be happy with any of the players being discussed at the #1 pick. I'm more concerned with the jags picks after that. Those picks will be crucial. By the way, dont look now, but there are finally only 2 more days until the draft!
We got ourselves a classic Mexican standoff

Baalke and Pederson both said they haven’t discussed the picks with anyone, so assuming it’s not Khan, where would this information about who likes who be coming from?

Surely they’re going to pick Hutchinson. The only left field pick I could see is Williams, as he would surely be in the conversation if he hadn’t done his acl. There haven’t been any reports I’ve seen about us looking in depth into the injury.

Walker is just too much of a projection pick. He may be fantastic, but we’re not in a position to take that kind of risk.

I’m not picking a guard at 1. If you take Neal (and tag/sign Cam), what was the point of the Little pick. That would be Baalke exposing a failure on his part.
