I watched the video of Andrew Mevis winning the Combine kicking competition with a 67 yard FG. His kicks had the same ball flight - high and down the middle. This will be the Jags kicker in 2022 and beyond.

I wasn't that high on Burks.  I'm just thankfully they didn't take Watson

He runs with his legs and not his arms which allows him to bend, cut and reach. Couple that with soft hands and he's going to be a bear to defend. He'll be a Trevor Lawrence favorite target, wait and see.

I hope you guys are right on both [BLEEP].
If the Lions stick with the 4-3 defense and play him on the end with his hand in the dirt I think Hutch will be a disappointment this year.  I'm starting to think  the Jags made the right pick
This is an interview with Devin lloyd after today's rookie mining camp practice.

Strikes me as a very impressive young man.

Probably because he of very advanced age for a rookie.

I suspect maturity may be part of it, but not all of it.  He seems to have a drive about himself.  Hard to explain, but to me it seems evident in this interview.

I was just joking around anyway

Welp...not the first time I've been wooshed!   Laughing
Heard some buzz about Naz Bohannon (TE) at practice today. Hasn't played football since high school and was playing at Clemson last year as a basketball player not a football player lol.

The next Antonio Gates!
Will be funny when Ballke turns my angst into tears of joy. I hope it happens but I will not yield on my despising him. Hey I liked the other guys that failed at the job so... we will see.

They’ve changed their thoughts 2 weeks after the draft on just about every played drafted.

It’s all good though. I’m excited too!

I asking in particular about the drill, not specifically about Walker.

Mostly because I see sled videos like that all the time, but I honestly have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking or what other people are analyzing in them to make a determination of good vs bad. On the surface it sounds like the "good body nonsense" noted in Moneyball.

Yeah that is nothing, the sled only had 1 weight on each, and didn't even move much. It's just helping with technique to get out of a stance and get your hands up quickly.

Admittance is key.

I appreciate the fact that he wanted to stay in Jacksonville instead of going somewhere else (like Walker did) to train with and get used to the guys on the team he will be playing with. To me it speaks of his commitment to the team and the organization as a whole. That's the standard a leader sets for those around him and I can see him becoming a leader on this team.

Good interview. Thanks for that.
Great article about undrafted FA TE Naz Bohannon:  Sounds like a neat experiment that could work.  Haven't heard any media griping, however, about Bohannon, a basketball player with no college football experience, taking up a roster spot.  Proves all the media pundants last year had a false agenda when it came to Jags giving Tim Tebow a shot.  At least Tebow had NFL experience.

Rooting for the guy.  Would love to have the next Darren Waller on the club.  A weakness for so many years becomes a strength?

This has absolutely zero to do with Tim Tebow.

Urban Meyer is long gone. He was responsible for the idiotic decision to sign Tebow and leaving the position group devoid of talent.

Pederson on the other hand has signed one of the top free agents at the position and brought in multiple UDFA players and tryout players. Bohannon is a tryout player not under contract.

You haven't heard media bad mouthing the move because he's a tryout player and because giving NCAA basketball players a shot at TE is now a decades old concept they've seen happen 3 dozen times.

Giving a failed NFL player coming off of a failed MLB attempt a shot to play football at all in the NFL fittingly drew criticism. It was insanely stupid.
