Saints went 7-9 in
2014 - Drew Brees: 33 TD 5 INT
2015 - Drew Brees: 32 TD 11 INT
2016 - Drew Brees: 37 TD 15 INT
The years before and after, the team was a 10+ win team practically every year. So i'm curious, when those Saints teams weren't winning.. Did Drew Brees standout as still a very elite QB.. or did he.. you know, 12-17?
Drew Brees' rookie stats: 55.6 comp%, 2-1 sack to TD ratio. 2nd year stats were 1/1 TD/INT ratio, .500 record.
You're trying to compare apples to steel-belted radials. Once TLaw has 13 prior seasons of experience to lean on, we can revisit these cherry-picked numbers.

Hmm let's see
In 2021, Trevor Lawrence was a rookie, playing for a rookie head coach in Urban Meyer on a team that finished 1-15 the year before.
In 2014, Drew Brees was a 14 year veteran playing for Sean Payton on a team that finished 11-5 the year before. On that 2014 team, Brees had Pro Bowlers Jimmy Graham, Mark Ingram and G Jahri Evans supporting him. In addition, he had a non pro bowl young Terron Armstead, Marques Colston and Brandin Cooks supporting him on offense.
Such a comparison reeks of an agenda.

"One of the biggest storylines of Lawrence's first offseason and training camp with the Jaguars was Meyer and the Jaguars' staff forcing Lawrence to split first-team reps with Gardner Minshew, who the Jaguars would trade for a sixth-round pick before the season began. "
I was one of the ones who was very much against this fake QB competition. There was no reason at all to give Minshew reps with the 1st team and I'm glad this coaching staff hasn't done a fake competition. Some of the posters here were saying "Well what if Minshew wins the job? Trevor can sit for a year and that's a good thing." Minshew was never starting but Urban wanted to play mind games like he was in college.

Not getting a #1 pick lots of reps in camp was yet another red flag from Meyer signaling something rotten in Denmark.
Ugh
So dumb
Can't wait to see a competent coach put him in better situations.
I’m really impressed with our new HC. He is the X factor this team really needs. There they go , sucking me in again. I’m a glutton for punishment I suppose.
Expect great things from this team and especially our QB,
Who cares what the media thinks about it. It's all about game day.

Wow. What a take on the team as a whole. He seems to be very impressed with us.
It's the cool story, Collinsworth was saying the same thing even though we stunk out loud on the field last week.
I wonder how much of it is the media trying to find the next Bengals story, young QB, team that historically is bad, take the league by storm, blah blah blah.

It is definitely a trending topic / narrative
There was a segment on ESPN yesterday (Keyshawn) asking if TL was the top candidate to show big sophomore growth
I’m hearing good things about Mac Jones.
