Our biggest advantage is the swimming pools
Quote:That has absolutely nothing to do with the post your quoted.

Yes it does. Think about it.
Let's just hope the relative high heat and humidity isn't used to gas our historically bad defense.

A few practices in the 60s and 70s, huh? McCarthy says it's a mere 6 degrees warmer in Jax than Green Bay. Either he is trying to get his guys to not think about it much, or he just doesn't know. The humidity is going to be our single biggest advantage. If we are going to win this game, we have to run the ball until they're bringing in the meat wagon to haul off those dirty packers d lineman. Wear them out and don't get beat for big plays, and we have a shot.
Oh man, I thought you were going to say our second biggest weapon...Gus Bradley

Perhaps this calls for a little drinkeypoo?
I remember an opening day against the bills. They killed us. Heat. Meh. Only if the jags offense can pound it.

Best post in the entire thread

Mr. Lahey, is that you or the liquor talking?
Quote:Yes it does. Think about it.

It was a response to a statement about offensive and defensive linemen having the worst problems with heat and humidity. There person said nothing about running backs.
We've won like 1 game at home and lost like 4 or 5 since Gus.  The weather must not be too much of a problem.

Quote:Our biggest advantage is gonna be Marks blowin up the middle all over Aaron's face. Booom.

Yeah, as in when they say, "he's the backup...we don't need to double him."

Quote:Pirkster brought up the Carolina game last year. If not for the pick 6 by Norman, the Jags could've won that one. The heat is definitely going to play a factor, especially if we don't turn the ball over and let Chris Ivory pound on their suspect run D all day.

Rush for around 150 combined yards with no turnovers and I think we'll beat those dirty cheddarheads.

The Panthers game was not that close. There were a few things that would have had to go differently.

Quote:Meh, I don't buy that myth......I hear it every September, and I have never seen it play out. A quick glance at the Packers' roster reveals that the majority of their team played their college games in hot climates ( Arizona, the Southeast, etc ). I see it as a non-issue.

At one time the Jaguars had a huge W-L advantage in home openers. This changed only recently.

Yeah I dont remember that game being all that close, the Panthers were doing more to hurt their cause than we were.

Silly question Randy Bobandy, I AM the liquor.

I was at that game and it was hot. The heat factor is largely a myth.
Quote:Can the weather rush the passer?

The sweat from Roger's brow will be rushing towards his eyes, blurring his view of wide open receivers?

I think the huge w-l advantage in years past had more to do with the players than the weather.
I remember a game when the Jaguars were playing the Steelers in Jacksonville and it was about 96 degrees and near 90% humidity and the Steelers players were dropping like flies. It's a huge advantage if we can play up-tempo and get their line dehydrated and cramping early.

Soundd like Denver's game plan, save the humidity for thin air. And they're wearing Green while we will rock right in white.
