We should have a better record but the team is nowhere near as bad as in past years... we also lack talent in several areas.

They took a terrible team and made them competitive in a single offseason. People expecting them to be a 5 win team right now are delusional.

You call the product you saw a "team" in 2018 - 2021? That was dysfunction.

You're now seeing an actual team still learning. It's at least promising. It's at least competitive.

I can see it now. Draft night 2023, we'll be picking #1 again, but we'll all be saying how 2024 is our year because of how competitive we were the previous season.

It means we’re not getting blowed off the field

It really is intresting

Maybe we missing a cog in the d

The league knows about Griffin..
I agree. He hasn't really been what they had hoped for. They probably should have held onto Henderson. Maybe they consider moving Williams outside. Herndon to nickel. Again, he's the veteran in your secondary and he got caught sleeping with the game on the line. Need to get Ringo in RD1 next year.

We were in the game last year at Indy, driving for the potential winning TD when Lawrence fumbled away the game.  This year, the defense gives it away.  So what's different?

I'd agree that the Jaguars are likely to end up with 5 or 6 wins. Right now, I'd pick them to win these games:

1. Giants: Just feel like the G-Men are due to lose.

2. Broncos: Most disappointing team this season. Game will be close in London.

3. Texans: Due to beat them plus the game will be meaningless to both teams other than draft position.

4. Titans: Another meaningless win which will lower the Jaguars draft spot enough to cost them a shot at taking the top cornerback (likely Kelee Ringo) to replace Griffin.

I get your point and I am not happy with our record. It definitely feels like a much more competitive team.

We had 7 games last year that were within a possession last year (or we won by more than a possession).

This year we have 6 in 6 games.

I get the anger, but the false equivalency to last years pile of [BLEEP] needs some perspective.

We’re actually a 3 point favorite next week, for some odd reason.

Agreed, we lost a number of close games last year. If you lose by 50 or you lose by 1, it's still 1 loss

Well, I'm not angry, it's just football. It's not worth elevating my already high blood pressure over this.

I do see your point, and maybe they are more consistently competitive. However, it still may only work out to 4-5 wins. And supposedly, you are who your record says you are.

Having a lot of chips on the table still isn't worth much until you cash out.

Is anyone denying that? A loss is a loss but let’s look at the big picture. Only you and a few other people were predicting 10 wins or more. This team is extremely young. This year was about developing our young core while still trying to win games and be competitive. Guess what? They’re accomplishing that.

I’m not happy with the loss (gut wrenching) but at 37, it doesn’t affect my day to day at all. Big picture with the future still up in my book.

And before you say “oh you’re just content with losing”, that’s not it. I’m very competitive in my men’s league games but I have can’t help this Jags team win. I’m happy when they win, it sucks when they lose but I’m still moving on to the next week.
We will be picking #1 overall again.

I would take that bet , if I gambled
team is competitive and we've won 2 already, honestly it's about time trevor lawrence started showing what he's about. We need to score more points, flat out.

i'm not even talking about today, the defense carried this squad for the first half of the seson till now, where is lawrence and this offense?
Walker has had 2 straight weeks of back breaking penalties. Both turned what would of been punts into TD drives and played a big cause in both losses.

Needs to be coached and counseled. Team captains need to step up and speak up as well.
