I’m not so sure Woods pushed off on the TD either that most are crying about.  It looked like his hand was on Lloyd to feel where he was and Lloyd went down on his own.  Hard to tell from the replay but I didn’t necessarily see a push off on rewatching it either which is probably really why it wasn’t called.

Even so, the other 11 times Lloyd got worked count too.

Lloyd, Oluokun and Griffin all were abused with the quick passes.

We can place a fair shame of blame on them for not covering well despite the high number of rub routes + good play calling and execution from the colts - they failed - but we also need to recognize that they were not prepared for it as a defense by the staff.
At least that is my opinion.

Caldwell clearly didn't have an answer for being attacked this way. At first the hurry up affected their ability to adjust, but the entire game passed without any effective adjustments.

When a team runs the same small handful of plays over and over with success, there is a coaching element lacking. Especially when you have the talent we have in the back seven. Those players (LBs especially) looked worse than their actual talent level IMO.
The way you beat the short pass is to get up there and play press man coverage. You gotta jam the WR at the line and disrupt the timing.

And we have zone corners on both sides.

LOL

We know.

But we don't have any man coverage guys except Williams.
(and it's not really his best use either - but he's better than Griffin with it)

It will be interesting to see how Caldwell tries to get around this issue.

I'd wager 2023 sees a man coverage CB added.
I seem to remember a lot of past whining about the terribleness of Herndon, but now we want him to start? LOL

He's better in the slot than he is outside.
So if we are facing a team attacking the same way the colts did, then Herndon in the slot and Williams outside playing press would in fact be better than what we saw Sunday in Indy.

I think so anyway.

Do I think Caldwell will do it?
Snowball's chance in hell.

If Shaq is healthy I think he will play him - he's a rah-rah guy with a big salary - and I think that makes him tough to bench.

Hopefully the back keeps him out a few weeks and the secondary improves.

He was very young when thrown into the fire and hes only 26 now.  Some players do improve and as bad as his past games was he never had a game as bad as Griffin was last week.  He looked good in the 1 start he had against the Chargers, was manned up against Mike Williams at times and didnt give up a catch. He

I think our coaches tell him to sit this game out and make sure his back is healed up and if we get a win and it helps our secondary I see him riding the pine unless a injury happens

This...get them off timing.... backing off is definitely not the answer

Thanks to you both for your insight on Herndon.
We’re gonna get stomped

It’s looking like it with that injury report
Watching giants/ravens on all22

A few thoughts:

* Jags can most def run for 200 on this giants team - if they get ETN/JROB 28 touches and a half dozen designed TL runs - they will eclipse 200 on the ground.

* Jags should absolutely load the box and sell out to stop the run. Daniel Jones will make mistakes under pressure. Just play the run until down and distance make them pass.

* If their starting corners are Moreau and Jackson - I wouldn't be afraid to target either one a few times in play action with Kirk or Zay Jones. They are gettable.

* If Darnay Holmes is at nickel - I'd definitely try to target Kirk or Engram on him a few times to feel it out. Could be exploitable.
Y’all wild.

I’m more confident in this game than the clots game.

Giants just came off an emotional win. They have no WR playmakers and have had a lot of good luck so far.

The more I watch the giants vs ravens, the more I agree.

They will give up yards on the ground, and Lamar left a lot of plays out there through the air with bad throws or late throws.

I think they are gettable IF and BIG IF - If we limit Saquon.
The Giants have never won in Jax
Go to 16:30. Those players are licking their chops right now for 26
