Not a case for protection

Pressure from LT, LG and C are just as much a problem as his inaccuracy

I agree, he does evade pressure well. The next step will be taking advantage of that ability. When he goes from evading a sack, and then completing a pass it will be a gigantic step forward. It dosen't help if he evades a sack and then throws a pick.

This is the type of thing I really want to see him do more often in the second half of the year.

Is Ben Bartch still out from injury? can't remember.

Yeah, IR for the year.
Our O-line run blocks better than pass block.

That really sucks.
The throw he made from his own endzone with pressure on him was probably the best throw he's made so far this year.

even the announcers said the protection TL received today was pretty good
Another game with 0 sacks. I believe he’s been sacked 12 times on the year, going into week 10.

Lawrence was very decisive today and was getting the ball out quick. Thus the line looked like the average group they are, and not the absolute bottom of the barrel unit they have been potrayed as.
TLaw played a much better game starting in the 2nd quarter. He didn't look nearly so flustered.
Jags still 29th in the league in pass protection win rate.

After 4 sacks yesterday - anybody still content with the protection from this OL?

Fortner is going to be a tough decision. He absolutely MUST hold up in pass pro better to remain the starter.
LG in '23 is likely Bartch + (hopefully) competition that could also play center if needed
Scherff had a great season going till 2 weeks ago. Will need to watch down the stretch.
Taylor is a matter of $$
Cam Robinson is playing well below his deal $ but they are stuck with him for one more year unless they trade him.

Seems like the best thing they can due is add two interior linemen with at least one of them having center ability/versatility - and get a deal done with Taylor.

Little is the wildcard.

Can he play guard? Is he ready to take over RT?

The only thing certain is that TL needs a better pocket and another .5 second of time on the regular.
Hoping we go heavy on the big guys early in the draft. Yes, we want stud WRs but I feel you can find gems in the third or later round on those.

Yep, Planet Theory.
Jags pass block win rate is still hovering around the same area of suck.
49%

Third worst in the league.

Those of you still confused by sack numbers can take it from a former Jags OL if you still won't believe me.

Our line is good because of Trevor.

Correction, the line is bad, it's the sack stats that are good because of Trevor.

I'd say our OL "looks good, sometimes" because of Trevor.

Because - right now - they near the bottom of the league in pass pro and lately the run blocking has been nearly just as bad.

ETN is seeing contact at or behind the LOS at a very alarming rate.

OL is a urgent need to address in the offseason
OL is a postion i'd really like to see us continue addressing in free agency. I feel like when you finally got your guy at the QB position it's a bit risky to throw rookies in there. I'm not saying not to take one or two in later rounds for depth/development but i'd love to see us find a guy or two in free agency, while using the draft to bolster our Defense and offensive skill positions mainly.
Trevor Lawrence has been sacked 23 times this season which is 3rd best in the NFL.

Carr and Mahommes has been sacked 21 times.

For the nineteenth time:

"Low Sack numbers for mobile QBs are not an indicator of positive OL performance."
