It's just that CB2 is the current hole in the roster.
The Depth Chart will sort itself in camp - just acquire the talent.
I don't think looking for a lesser talent than Campbell is the right strategy, it should be getting the best CB you can get within the constraints of cap management and draft capital distribution/strategy. If that guy turns out to be a bona-fide lockdown #1 , great.
If he turns out to be behind Campbell on the depth chart but better than the current options behind Campbell, also great.
I'd say if we spend a pick in the top half of the draft on a CB, and he's not better than Campbell, we made the wrong pick.
Campbell has had a few games this season where his performance ranked in the top five league wide for CBs statistically.
PFF currently grades him as the 18th best corner in the league.
He has allowed a lower completion percentage this season than Patrick Peterson, Jaire Alexander, Sauce Gardner, Stephon Gilmore, Patrick Surtain, and other notables.
While it should be a goal to land the best talent available, you'd likely have to draft a CB very early to improve upon his current level of performance.
Literally the only gripe on the kid right now is that he's better in zone than in man and he hasn't completely rid himself of the hesitancy of playing the ball in time when he has his back to the QB. He has improved there, but it still happens.
I'd be thrilled if we land another CB as effective as Campbell, only I hope the next guy has a bit stronger skill set in man coverage.
Anyone who knows football knows the golden rules. The 2 most important aspects outside of the QB are
1. Protect the Qb
2. Effect the Qb
Right now the pass rush is struggling and missing #2

Washington. Yes, he would!

With Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk, Travis Etienne…that would be a spicy offense.
If we could just have averaged another TD per game we would be undefeated right now.
Darnell Washington is a good prospect but he has some issues. I am a Bulldogs fan so I try and watch the games that are actually worth watching. He suffers from concentration drops at times and I mean that's with NOBODY around him at times. He's tall, more physical than fast, just don't expect to see him test well like Jelani Woods did at the combine earlier this year.
I think this team would be much better off going WR in RD1 and RD2. May not be a popular opinion on here but I think the value matches up that way at this time. There's one TE in particular that I like though. Zack Kuntz out of Old Dominion. 6'8, 251 pounds. A little bit taller than Washington and a little bit lighter. Will probably be a lot quicker combine wise. He had a solid year last year and he's been relatively quiet this year. I would drop a 4th or 5th RD pick on him if he's there.
Some other names to look at would be Sam LaPorta out of Iowa. Dalton Kincaid out of Utah. Josh Whyle out of CIN.
In a perfect world? They draft Quentin Johnston out of TCU and trade back up into RD1 on the opening night to draft Michael Mayer out of ND. Still think this team has to double down in the draft at WR and TE though.
Really would like a defence coordinator that can figure out this defence
Alot of talent, very raw
How about a pass rushing corner?

At this point I would be happy with a sack master or a lockdown corner.
Heading into week 10 @ KC, the Jaguars defense is averaging 1.0 sacks in ‘away’ games.
Josh Allen leads the team in pressures with 33.
He also only has 3 sacks through 9 games.
Another lock down CB or deep threat WR for me (right now). If we dont resign Engram then TE becomes a huge need. Always pass rush and O Line if it makes sense to take there.
Number 1 receiver without a doubt
1) I know we need pass rush, but a lock down CB would enable us to play more man coverage and that would free us up to send more people in the pass rush.
2) Our biggest needs of course are pass rusher, CB, and WR. But there's a good possibility we have the WR we need for next year in Calvin Ridley, and there's a possibility we have the pass rush we need if Walker develops, but is there any chance we have the CB we need on our roster right now? No. So I go with CB.

True. I was speaking about the team at this moment, but we do have a potential number one receiver. There are a lot of?‘s, but if he comes back strong, we may have a good receiving trio with him, Kirk, and Zay
QB. QB fixes a lot and until either Trevor develops or we draft a good one it is the #1 need on any team without one.
QB is fine today. I think we need a LG, potentially a LT, a WR1.
Lawrence put the ball in the end zone earlier. Cam was downfield illegally.

In my opinion, our #1 need, is a change of name.. Need to call this team The Jacksonville Griswolds.

Trevor is playing well. There are a lot of issues with this team but he doesn't seem to be one of them, as of late anyway.
