What? Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Sorry, it just hit me and I couldn't help myself.

"Germans?"
"Forget it. He's rolling."

It is taking all of my willpower not to flag these.

Snowy modeled himself after TMD, or folks like him, starting a few years ago.  Dude believes doing this crap makes him a board guru of some sorts.  TMD was the coolest, man!  Not an attention-starved, look-at-me, look-at-me loser at all!

Snowy, just in case you are paying attention, you have modeled your posting style here after some of the biggest jerks in the history of this board (and other boards for that matter).  Any chance you could stop it and return to a time when you were less beat up by this team?  I know it's a big ask, but give it a shot if you can.

I can,and my intentations weren't suppose to come across as being a Jerk.  a lot of people here always have way to high expectations from new players or Head Coaches.   Jags get Trevor in draft, and people start saying team will win 5 to 6 games. Champtionships teams weren't built quickly. will the team get better eventtattlny, but they are not good enough yet to win 6 to 7 games. I'm just saying it takes time. I tried to tell people here not to have high expentations yet,it was to soon. I am a jags fan,and will also be real.
I hope the rest of the season goes 1 of two ways.

Either we go on a tear, win the remaining 5 games and somehow sneak into the playoffs.

OR

We lose out, while Trevor continues to look improved and we somehow sneak our way to the 2nd/3rd overall pick which we could possibly trade out for a boat load for one of the 2 top qbs.
Oh, the naïveté

If we're picking 2nd or 3rd, it better be a ton of picks we get to pass up Jalen Carter.

Let's say the Saints stay put at 5th overall, we get the 2nd overall pick and they offer 5th + Marshon Lattimore to move up for one of the QBs, would you do it?

Someone is going to offer way more than that.

Look at the picks some of these teams gave up for Wentz and Goff in their draft year.

Jags better walk away with multiple 1s and 2s.

Well we got 2 first round picks out of Jalen Ramsey and it turned into Chaisson and ETN. I would absolutely take a trade like that tho, but I'd have a hard time turning down a #1 corner whos only 26 years old, just to move back 3 spots.

I just don't see how the Jags get a pick higher than than 5 or 6 right now..

Please option 1. Let's go on a winning spree. The jags need to get back to how they played early in the season on defense while playing the same or better on offense as they have developed into so far in the season.

Just win baby! Fix it right now. Why wait for later? There is no better time than this next game.

It's not over!!!! Let's go! Kick the titans in their baseballs at least.

I don't care about negativity. Be down on the team, that's fine. I'm not critical of snowy's attitude, at all. One of TMD's biggest problems was that he would latch on to an idea or player, and every single thread would get sprayed with that opinion like some feral cat marking territory.

If you are posting word-for-word the same post in every thread, imo that's a reportable offense. Bring something new to the conversation, find new insights that support your argument (or refute others' claims) and share that with the group. This is the standard we all should be held to, not just you, or me, or mods, or newbs.

Turn the tables. If I just responded "Jags will make the playoffs. Book it." to every post that either predicted losses, criticized decisions or lamented draft misses, it would get real old real fast, even if it is blind positivity.

Sorry if this derailed the thread, but I probably should have made this more clear in my initial gripe.

on topic, math may say it's not over, but I heed Vic's advice and ain't worrying about that.

No.

This ain't fantasy football, and his contract would mean we'd be in cap hell and have to start purging like mad just to keep a roster going. Plus, would they eat the dead money hit just to move up?

Build through the darft.

I want their 5th pick, and next year's first or some other package of picks to make the move. That, or they gotta take an albatross contract off our hands like Cam or D. Williams as part of the exchange.
It's not over!!! One game at a time my friends. Next up cowboys. We need the titans to lose.

Let's go jags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

titans still play Cowboys, Chargers, Jags.

2 or even 3 losses for them is definitely a possibility.

Jags still need to take care of business on a tough sled Cowboys, @Jets, titans.

Titans currently crumbling  and the Jags still hanging in there tough.

It's starting to look like we won't be picking 2nd or 3rd.

While our remaining schedule is tough, I see no way we end up picking 2nd overall.

It's not much easier for us.  We've got Dallas, the Jets, the Texans (who actually beat us this year) and the Tacks.
Titans finish at Chargers, home Houston, home Dallas, at Jacksonville. We finish home Dallas, At Jets, at Houston, home Titans. We need to finish one better than them over the next three weeks to be one game back going into season finale. At a minimum we need to go into the penultimate week two games back (which is the week we are most likely to make up that one game... titans playing dallas and us playing houtson). But to get that penultimate week still only two games back would require us to have the same record as them over the next two weeks. They play chargers and houston and we play dallas and the jets. Both will be very tough for us. Especially with how inconsistent and awful our defense has been. 1-1 seems like best case for us which means we need them to go 1-1 as well. The way they are playing of late they could easily do that. At the chargers next week being the most likely.

Finishing 3-1 the rest of the way just seems way too optimistic. We run so hot and cold. But still alive.
Yeah, I don't see any way this defense can scrape out 3 wins in the final four games.
They did some amazing things in TN, but also had their moments of looking really rough vs a banged up opponent.

I doubt that kind of turnover ratio bounces our way again this year.
