PLEASE WIN WEEK 18!

TEN will lose to DAL next week.  Jags beat HOU.  TEN game doesn't matter, right?

It's a must win. It would only not matter if it were possible for us to be up by 2 games going into that game.
This team is finally putting it together and learning how to win and some of you guys want to possibly ruin that by sitting guys? Incredible..
Is a Wild Card out of the picture?

No, but the chances are very slim.

Yes

10 or more wins required to oust wildcard leader

We can still make the Wild Card, but we'd need A LOT of help.

Got to focus on the Division.

I think we win the division, but the ravens have ten wins and are second in the AFC North behind Cincy

Don't see how we'd supplant them with 9 wins.

The Ravens aren't the team we'd be looking to pass, it'd be the Dolphins or Chargers (Phins play tomorrow, Chargers play Monday) who are both sitting at 8-6. Remember there's 3 wild card teams now.

But again, we'd need a lot of help. Taking the Division is the way.
Look. 7 teams get in. Right now it looks like the chargers and dolphins are #6 and #7 with the Pat's, jets, titans, raiders and steelers looking

All the teams looking have 8 losses.

The raiders or the Steelers probably get just about eliminated tonight because they are playing each other right now.

Thought the Jets were pretty much out of it with the loss to us....
Play everyone and give the Texans and Titans an A whooping they’ll never forget

might as well start beating em up now because this is how its going to be fir the next few years

Not 100 percent no, but we would need a lot of help, and I don't like to depend on others to do the job for us. We are way better than the Texans and the Titans. Just man up, play the way we have been playing, take care of business, and win that [BLEEP] division title for the first time in 5 years.
(12-24-2022, 08:28 PM)Newton Wrote: [ -> ]How about this scenario. If titans win next week and we lose, but then both teams tie week 18, we would have wished we played to beat the Texans.
Extremely unlikely the Titans are beating the Cowboys. They don't have the players to do it and are likely folding very quickly.

As long as Wild Card is an option, you don't rest the starters. Period. I agree that we need to focus on the division, but I've seen plenty of teams get help over the years. Play to win.

Yeah, I didn't think wild card was in play. It technically is.
That means you have to pull out all the stops next week.

In reality - I think it is almost a lock that 8-6 Miami finishes with 10 wins (11 if they beat he packers today).
And the 8-6 bolts also should finish with 10 wins baring an upset. So the odds of getting past either of them are very slim and the ravens are already out of reach.

Yeah that's my thinking also. As I put myself, I hate depending on others to do the business for us; we just beat Texans and Titans as we should and who cares what other dominos may fall if you will around the AFC. Miami should win out, but the way they have played this past month that's not guaranteed. Bolts have been picking up the pace if you will, so give them a better shot at that.

Regardless again though, we just have to take care of ourselves, get these two wins, win the division, and host a game against one of the above or the Ravens I believe?
We need to put an old-fashioned butt whoopin' on both the 'horns and stinkin' tacks.
Beat them both like they owe us money....which they certainly do!
Let the BIG CATS eat!

I'm probably missing something, but we don't have to beat out the wild card leader, just the 7th seed or below to make the playoffs via wild card.

But the "easiest" path for us is simply winning the division.

Everything is in our hands.

Even if we lost to the Texans, we could still win the division.

That would not be the case with the wild card.
