The aim should be play as hard as possible, get a huge lead, then pull the starters
You play to win the game.

Surprised they didn't sit the whole team tbh, lol.
I'm glad that Pederson doesn't sit players just to sit them. Keep the momentum moving in the right direction. We need this for sure.

NH3...
We really owe Houston a whoop [BLEEP]. However, they’re a better team than their record says. They’ll be playing us hard.
This forum after the game:

Jags win, no injuries= DougyP is genius. Banana

Jags win, minor injuries= Man that was close, DougyP = We got lucky man, he almost [BLEEP] up. Smile

Jags lose, no injuries, DougyP = Man, he sucks, how do you lose to the texans? Huh

Jags lose, major injury = Fire that loser coach immediately!! Angry Angry

And regardless, none of that will matter after the Tennessee game.
If the jaguars beat Tennessee, the forum will be happy, and they will say "Why were we so worried about what to do with the starters during the Houston game?"
In the unlikely event the Tennessee manage to win, and knocks the jaguars out of the playoffs, we will definitely blame Doug's decision during the Houston game.

oh ho ho

have you learned nothing in your time here?

w18 we win, sure, folks are happy, but there will be plenty of ppl to call out the w17 naysayers and grumblers, and rightfully so.
w18 we lose, the naysayers will thump their chests clamoring that they knew all along that we were overmatched, the QB was never the answer, and we are doomed to a life of top 5 darfting

it's what we do. (and why we all keep comin' back.)
Keeping the momentum and timing in a passing offense is important. I think playing to win is the right decision at this point in time.
I'd rather go balls to the wall like they've been doing all year than get half of our backups hurt by trying to take a game off. And it's time to end this losing streak - Tex has been almost as bad as us for the last few years and yet we are still at risk of losing our 10th straight to them. No more I say!

Being a Jaguars fan is like playing golf; whenever your game sucks you swear you’re going to give it up, but you have so much time invested, and there’s that one really good round…

They have lost a lot of players due to injury, including bth of their first round picks.

Yet they continue to battle top notch competition.

My hats off to them.
It's pretty simple. We have momentum and there is absolutely no reason in the world to disrupt it. TLaw has said numerous times that the adversity they have faced this year is what has built the trust the players now have in each other and in Pederson. Even though they lost in Philly due to rain and windy conditions they knew they could win at the Meadowlands in similar weather because they'd been there, done that and learned from it.

They have confidence will beat the titians because they already did, in their house where we haven't won since 2013. They have confidence they can beat the tinhorns because they're learning from previous games how to win. Plus, we just need to beat them for the same reason we needed to beat the titians. We're tired of their [BLEEP]. Lol.

Why on earth would you disrupt any of this? This game is just as important to build trust and confidence as the week 18 game is for the division win.
I'm still more comfortable sitting starters.  Tennessee's one hope for week 18 is that TL suffers a season-ending injury tomorrow.  How much "momentum" would we have lost if that happens?

It's a meaningless game because we won't get into the playoffs if we lose to Tennessee (the coin flips that would need to fall our way have around a 1% chance of happening).

Just my opinion.
Trevor and Travon expected to play.

I’m expecting Travon is essentially fully healthy at this point. I’m not sure I would risk playing him otherwise.

If he is healthy, he needs to play so he is back in game shape for next week.
