Secondly, you’re talking about hoping to remain under the radar for a couple of years.  We’re 2 games away from the Super Bowl, 1 game away from the conference championship.  Hello?  Situational awareness knocking.

You act as though the main stream media cares about any of that.  Based on the success of our team, both our Coordinators should be interviewed for HC jobs...  They aren't.

And that's how I like it!!!

The Super Bowl is still in sight THIS SEASON.  You over here hoping to remain under the radar.  The concepts of remaining under the radar and making it to the Super Bowl are mutually exclusive.  And you’re HOPING for the former?

Miami knotted up. 17 - 17. Mike McDaniel has reentered the chat. LOL.

That was me not taking the bait and being intentionally brief as a courtesy to someone having a rough go of it for a few posts and who is still committed to it apparently.  Finished with any further back and forth on this.  Have a great rest of your day.
I am watching videos of Doug and am just imagining how different our season would have been if we hired Byron Leftwich as HC (I was in that camp last year) instead

Doug became such a better fit, much more than I could have imagined. The Jags FO let us down numerous times in the past, but this time they made up for previous mistakes and have started to gain some of my trust back

You can't make that comparison because Leftwich hasn't been a HC before so we don't have anything to compare it to. We do know that Brady is happy with him and he was able to customize the offense for him. He also made Winston successful but couldn't get him to stop turning it over. Who knows if the Jags would be even better with him, there is no way to know yet.

Doug is great and he got results out of this team. Hopefully it continues and we don't hit a ceiling like in Philly but since the Jags have Trevor, it should work out better.

Our coordinators can't be interviewed yet since we're still playing. They are eligible this week. And no one is talking to Caldwell, he's a 1st year coordinator with a middling defense.

Byron and Trevor would probably get along great and Trevor would be Trevor.  He would grow either way.
The wildcard is how does Byron handle being in charge of an entire team instead of just an offense.  And what kind of culture does he build.  Very happy with Doug but also excited to see what Byron's future holds wherever he ends up.

Totally understand that.  My point I'm trying to make is that at the moment, our coaches aren't on other team's radars for promotion.  And to be honest, I like it like that.  It's not gonna be like this after another season or two.  And it's nice that we can come back next year with the same staff in place.

Taylor and Caldwell are both 1st year coordinators and will need to do it for at least another year or two before teams start considering them for HC jobs.  Add the facts that Pedersen is calling the plays and that Caldwell's defense was pretty shaky for large parts of the season, and of course they are under the radar.  Not really even on the radar yet.  And yeah, I like that the team will have some continuity on Off and Def next year too.
