I don't even care if it's a short term bandaid. If we get a year or two of decent guard play from him, that's a win. Having better protection will do wonders for Blake's development.
Joeckel needs to be out of the line up, as soon as possible. He is terrible.

Man i really want this guy signed. It would be dumb not to.
I can't see why Caldwell wouldn't jump at this "gift." This team has only 1 big weakness and this guy seems very solid. All their other options like Bernadeau and Shatley did not pan out and Joeckel is a major question-mark. Pay this guy whatever it takes and then draft a guy in the 1st 3 rounds next year to develop. It is unlikely Joeckel will return after this year anyway as some foolish team will overpay him as a free agent.

Several free agent guards are better than what the Jags have now imo. Can't see why Dave wouldn't pull the trigger

Agreed. Hope Dave is all over this.
Even if we don't land him.. Probably gives our DLine a slight boost for Week 1. Marks and Jackson should have impactful games.
