It would not take long to look back at the scrimmage/post scrimmage threads and see the multitudes that thought Joeckel played very well at LG.
20 snaps against one of the elite DTs in his first real start at the position is enough to completely change your mind?

I'm with you on this, but Sitton is fantastic.
I am confident Caldwell can draft us a guard next year. He found Linder and Cann with 3rd round picks. The problem is, it doesn't help us this year. Joeckel is a scrub and he's gonna get Blake killed.

He is, and I did want him. I just understand why Dave might not have gone full throttle for him (or why Sitton would have chosen somewhere else even if Dave did, which we don't know).
Quote:And we have to resign Blake, Arob, Linder, and Telvin by the end of next year, and pick up the options on Beachum for 10 mil/yr. I also want to keep Amukamara.
We probably could make it work, but it would not have been easy at all. It's a defensible position.
We have two more years until we have to sign Bortles.

everyone on this board just gets gassed up over any inkling of promise but he was never good

I'd be pretty surprised if we make Blake play on the 5th year option.

Yeah just pointing out we don't have to sign him in a years time.
When Joeckel struggles at guard which he will, then what is Dave going to do?

Nothing. Gus will just say he likes Joeckel's attitude and the way he goes out there and competes man!

Pete Prisco seems to think Joeckel will be good at OG... which means he won't be. Prisco is almost always wrong. Don't know how he keeps his job.
From NFL.Com:
<p style="font-size:16px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">The Jaguars will start free-agent pickup
Kelvin Beachum at left tackle and move 2013 first-round pick
Luke Joeckel inside to guard. This was a move that the team planned to make back in March when Beachum was signed. But when Beachum was slow to get on the field, Joeckel played left tackle in the first two preseason games and did a nice job.
<p style="font-size:16px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">He moved inside last week against the Bengals and wasn't nearly as bad as he was portrayed. He did get bowled over by
Geno Atkins on a play -- winding up on his back -- but he was tripped by center
Brandon Linder. Joeckel will be a much better guard than he was tackle. He always had problems with players who had room. Inside, that won't be the case. He's also athletic enough to get up to the second level. Here's a bet the Jacksonville offensive line will be much improved in 2016.
Sitton told media he WANTS to play in cold weather.
Apparently he got into a fight with Clinton-Dix and said something racially charged.

I wish I could say that this
wasn't the epitome of "Full Duval" but I can't.

I've heard it isn't wise to ever go "Full Duval".
