Even though I voted, we can't actually judge our picks that hasn't even hit the practice field as of yet. We'll be able to judge this draft class upon their completion of their first season of play.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...
I was quite negative originally but maybe that was more surprise.
Now I've had more time to think I like it more.
Doug's been really good utilising Tight Ends so I'm willing to trust him on the Strange pick.
We need another Running back so ETN doesn't need to carry the load so much.
Also as has been said there are still good players on the board and we have plenty of picks today.
See who else we pick up
I’m looking forward to day 3 today. Hopefully we get a gem or two

We still have an absurd amount of picks (9 in total) from rd 4-7.. I would have went TE/RB somewhere with those, and went after a Guard/Corner early.
Wypler and Phillips III are on the board still.

There's plenty of players left to shore up the depth today. I see a lot of names they personally interviewed and visited with remaining on the board. Especially on defense. Which explains why this draft has been offense centric so far.

D.

Round 2. More talented players available rather than picking a guy who should’ve been a day 3 pick.

Round 3. Good player, but a luxury pick. Quality running backs are found in the late rounds every year. CB, IOL, Edge all need addressed.

Underwhelming

But to give it some perspective, there were Dave Caldwell and Gene Smith drafts in the past where it felt like each pick was an impact player, only to find out later that it was an absolute bust of a draft
Strange was a need pick considering Engram may or may not be extended. With that said, the kid does have some up side. Bigsby is meh, I think they should have looked at the defensive line or the CB situation.
Day 2 was a "D+" for me. I don't mind Strange the player, just seemed like a massive reach for round 2, especially given the other talent that was on the board. Bigsby replaces 5th round failure Snoop as a short yardage option, but the pick just seemed too early for me. Not addressing the opportunities at CB and Pass Rush. Also, I was surprised no later accumulated picks were utilized to move up in either round.
I’ll take the wait and see approach, Baalke screwed up last year’s number one pick , but he did great in free agency. Penderson is an offensive dude and last year they invested in the defense with the idea that they would focus on offense this year. I get it, but our defense needs some help, big time…
Not really a fan of how day 2 went. Didnt know anything about Strange before we made the pick. After reading up on him and watching a few highlights, I can understand the pick even if it feels a little too high. Bigsby one I still don't get. Yea it's great having depth. And maybe he'll be the short yardage back we lacked last year. But that seems like the ultimate luxury pick for a team that still has a bunch of immediate needs. There were a lot of guys that were fringe first rounders that only went 10-15 picks ahead of our original spot in the second round. We had enough ammunition to move up and get someone who I think could be more impactful and fill an immediate need. Would be interesting to know what their strategy was as the 2nd round progressed. Did they just not see much value in the players available in the 2nd? Or did they but were they expecting a number of players to fall? And when that didn't happen they realized no one was left on their board that wasn't a reach so they dropped back to acquire more picks to try match the value with the pick as much as possible? I just have a hard time believing they went into this drafting thinking backup TE and 3rd string RB were areas they really wanted to target early in the draft.

I also find it odd that they really didnt have much interaction with Strange. I know you probably cant find time to talk to all 127 of the guys they were targeting in this draft. But I'd like to think you'd prioritize talking to and meeting with the guys you would consider taking in the first fews rounds of the draft. A 2nd round pick is a very valuable asset and I would think as much due diligence as possible would be done on a guy you'd take there. Admittedly I have zero context to back this claim. Maybe that isn't uncommon at all and teams usually only meet with first rounders but I have a hard time believing that.

My hunch is they probably were expecting a few guys to fall, didnt think they'd have to jump up to get them (or tried and couldnt find a good deal), and they got stuck with no one of great value at their pick, traded down to recoup as much value as possible, and took a player from their next tier down. Or maybe Strange was one of the last players available at whatever highest tier was remaining so they took him even though he filled a position of not an immediate need. Either way I have a hard time believing this was an ideal scenario for them.

As far as my opinion on the team, still think our biggest weakness going into the draft was both sides of the line of scrimmage. Not much depth behind the 5 starters on the offensive line and not a consistent pass rush on the dline. Offensive line I feel better about with Harrison. But disappointed we haven't done anything along the defensive line. We weren't great last year and we've only lost talent there. Have done nothing to upgrade. Anyone we get today I doubt we can expect a lot from next year unless we dumb luck our way into a steal.
Search for PFF big board from the 2018 draft. Read that.

He didn't screw up last year's number one pick by much.  Walker is a really good player.
It’s a F, and it’s not even about the players we drafted. I’m always wait and see on them. It’s that about half the players drafted today won’t make the team. Really needed to use those picks to make moves to move up yesterday. The picks are wasted today.

I think this is the year we will find out if Baalke was right or not.  If Baalke got that wrong this should be a huge hit on him.  Over 90% of the people thought Hutchinson should of been the pick.  It's just example of him thinking he's smarter than everyone else and ends up making him self look like a fool and an idiot and should be 1 of the things on top of the list for reasons he should get fired.  If he ends up being right then he looks like a genius and he had a great eye and knew exactly what he was doing and gets a big star.   We shall see
I went with D. They may both turn out to be good players though.

It just feels like we could have gotten Strange with the third and grabbed some of the talent that was dropping at our original pick (or even a small trade up).

I think Tank went around the spot he should have. It just isn’t need meets value in my mind. If he drops to one of our 15 4th rounders, sure go for it.

Not losing my mind about it. We will have some serious competition in camp this year if we end up bringing in 13 rookies…. Maybe lots of wasted resources though.
Guys,I was as confused and frustrated as you guys were last night. After some qood quality bourbon and a nights sleep I have settled down.

I had been all in on us selecting a few players, we didn't. Amazingly the same thing happened last year. Well the teal glasses are on hoping for a nice day of picks. We certainly will own day 3...LOL
C-

I’ll give them a bit of leeway on the Strange pick, but ANOTHER running back, when we have Hasty who already showed pass catching ability last year? Just baffling
As my guy said. I thought Baalke was cooking something up after round 1 but he was making Ramen noodles apparently
