I am guessing 53 peeps make the team. the next day 2 to 3 of them are put on IR (return) and 3 are added...

Have to be on the roster before you can be added to the IR return list.

You got an unhealthy hate boner for Herndon dude.

Jones is an excellent special teams player which is critical if you’re near the bottom of the roster. I’ve been really impressed with Cooks especially with his ability to go get the ball on off target passes but I just don’t see how he makes the roster from a numbers standpoint. Maybe practice squad.

Jones is an excellent special teams player which is critical if you’re the last receiver on the roster. It’s easy if you cut Farrell, Hasty, and Shatley, who are just guys who can be replaced.

Harris and Cooks are talented TE/WR hybrids, along with Prince. Together with Engram and Strange, they will cause matchup nightmares and fuel a bully running game.
On this potential Cut List, I've been trying to think like Pederson and our GM that has the final say would think BUT I think that My Thinking isn't what they're Thinking. Soooooo. Shaq, Herndon, Chaisson, Hasty and Beathard are out as veterans. Pederson (TE) will be on our PS and for the remaining transactions, let the chips fall where they may.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...
To make the numbers work, I think Hasty and Chaisson have to be cut so they can keep a 6th WR and Miller at LB. They like Herndon, so they cant keep Braswell or Hallet.

It's not like this is new behavior.
We will know at 4pm EST on Tuesday, August 29th. The phone lines and text lines are gonna go crazy on 1010xl.
Curious what other players the jags go after from other teams cuts. I feel although this group is well rounded overall, just feels weird bringing in another to learn the system in such shorter time
Cooks or Harris is going to turn into the next Allen Lazard
I don't see the cuts as all that easy for WR and DB.

Several depth receivers flashed big play ability despite the incumbent Jones looking like the best blocker.
He has a year of development on most of the others, so maybe they trust the staff to develop a guy with more upside?

The whole DB reserve and potential nickel cast is a bit of a cluster [BLEEP] , because every single player put some good stuff on tape and every single player put some BAD stuff on tape. Bad stuff against backups for that matter.
I am generally very disappointed that we did so little to aid our nickel role. I see zero saviors on this roster. Maybe a developmental safety in there. Maybe Braswell could be the "small nickel" in time - but he a'int ready yet. Maybe Johnson could be the big nickel in time, but he's hurt and also very green.

Between Hallett, Junior, Brown, Johnson, Braswell, et al, I just don't know where they are headed there.
Trust me, this is not an attempt at a victory lap because it sucks, but I predicted this would happen right after that draft when we didn't address nickel and couldn't trade back up. Right now, it really looks like we are staring down the barrel of lots of easy completions to the slot receiver or TE this season.

I think they are both better than Lazard

lololol, everyone on this board said we needed a nickel. It was no secret
Maybe the waiver wire might hold a possible NB.
Oh for crying out loud, the NBs are Herndon and Junior if they want to keep a vet, Junior and Braswell if they don't.
I don't understand why we would find someone better on the waiver wire. There's a reason players are cut. This time we probably have better depth than at least half the league so I don't think we'll find a nickel.

That should have been addressed in the draft. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't...

No [BLEEP] sherlock

But they all put up bad tape in the preseason

Wait. I thought we all were happy with Junior at NB. What’s wrong with him?

You misunderstood

Many posters after the draft differed with the take i just described in two differernt ways:

1. Many Folks felt we'd land an upgrade to Herndon with a late rounder
2. A few more felt fine with collecting so many late round picks and not trading back up

Keep in mind that we are 24th in the waiver wire order.  Even if good players are released, they are unlikely to make it to us.
Yeah Trent himself was making that point last night. I don’t think help is on the way from the waiver wire, but also, I think we have a lot more of our own talent than other recent years.
