I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't targeted a ton but used to clear space for Engram and Kirk to work underneath primarily.

Nonetheless - every defense we face will have a plan for him and many of them are going to shade a safety his way pretty often. Some of our "fans" may have foolishly given up on him after a few drops, but I guarantee he's still respected by every defensive coordinator in the league.

I'm more intrigued with what happens over the next 3 weeks on our OL than the receiver corps. We've got talent for says at receiver and that will sort itself. OL is a different story.
Him being a captain makes sense as a vote of confidence. I don't care about any of that. Just catch the damn football. This team is forking over a 3rd or 2nd RD pick in next year's draft in addition to gambling on him to begin with.

He has to start delivering sooner rather than later. Any other market would CRUCIFY him for his last two performances. New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc. He would be eaten alive on a 1 - 2 football team with his drops.

I didn't realize we were in a race with other fanbases to crucify players.

We're not. Just pointing it out. Since some of us "fans" are so terrible or hard on him.

Again, he was brought here to be THE GUY. He needs to start catching the easy one's. At least for a receiver of his caliber.

We would be 2 - 1 instead of 1 - 2 if he just makes maybe 2 catches he dropped against the tinhorns.

I think it kinda just depends on what type of looks we get from the defense .  The key like you said will be our interior blocking Jarrett and Onyemata.  2 of the best interior defenders in the league.  Bates is also one of the best safeties in the league so Trev has to know where he is at all times.  We need to go after Okudah, one who hasn't been very good in his career and is also coming off an injury.  Getting Etieene going early would also be very beneficial for us.  Their LBs is the weak link on that D so hopefully we go after them as well with Engram and Etienne in the pass game.
They’re bringing Jacob Harris up.

Yeah - I get it.
I'm disappointed that everything was pointing toward him being ready to immediately step up as 'the guy" and he has hit some bumps in the road.

I just feel like the overreactions have gotten a bit over the top.

There are a dozen bad plays to choose between in the houston loss - and any 4 of them may have radically changed the outcome of the game - including his dropped TD, but it wasn't just Ridley and I really think the odds of that kind of [BLEEP] show continuing are low.

I hope so. It goes hand in hand with the offensive line struggles. As you pointed out. How long is that line play sustainable with Lawrence getting decked like he did on Sunday?

That's why these highly paid skill players HAVE to make every pass within their catch radius count. Our margin of error now is paper thin already just three weeks into the season.

Can ill afford anymore lay up passes being dropped or put on the ground.

More talented, yes. He’s quick as a cat and knows how to run his routes. But you are what you put on film. Until he starts playing better than those guys, he’s not better. We’ll know if he’s able to turn it around in the next handful of games.

Yes the drops and penalties have been rough, but the fact that he's still getting wide open on those plays is something to keep note of. For now, I think it makes sense to say "look, he's had some drops/mental errors but he also just played his 3rd game in 2 years.. he's knocking off the rust.

I'd be more concerned if he lost speed or route running ability, but both of those things look crisp.. his hands were like magnets with the Falcons, i have no doubt he will get back on track.

Knocking off the rust is fine. But the Jags players themselves have said they hold themselves to a higher standard especially after the success last year. So, many fans want him or for that matter the team as a whole to start putting their money where their mouths are. Step it up. It needs to start now, with this London trip.

I have a feeling Ridley has a crazy game tomorrow against Atlanta.
Someone usually breaks out for us in London. That being said, this team has gone into full stink mode lately and honestly it is feeling too "normal". I'm not expecting or getting hype for anything, plus I have to wake up early on a Sunday to watch what one can only hope isn't a train wreck.
Looking for Ridley to shine today.

Let’s go JJ’s.
