You've also seen high draft picks used on tight ends and they almost never work long term. I think I read that the only TE drafted in round 1 to get a second contract on the team who drafted him in the last 10 years is David Njoku (not including Pitts).

Which is wild considering how valuable they become for good teams and QBs.

Agreed. I was playing with those adjustments to see what effect it might have on who is available at #17.   When discussing positional value vs team needs it appears everyone has sometimes different opinions. It has been said "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so apparently is BAP.  It does make a point about positional value and how it affects the draft selections make and the surprises that always happen in the draft.  Is the draft here yet?
