Any forum I go to that has more than two Democrats on it, I end up being to the right of them.

You have to have parties in a functioning democracy.
However our electoral college basically makes our parties permanent.  The parties can only evolve.  They can never die.

Man, I had the best time at the Whig meeting the other night. This is truly their year!

The Whigs died when insurrection began in Kansas. Violent insurrection and civil war is the only way parties can die in the US constitution with the 12th amendment. The only other way a party could die is to amend the constitution.
