The finale of Preseason 2024 is on our doorstep. Word is that the starters will play the 1st half tonight, expect lots of E.J. Perry hand offs after that.

Game time is 7pm. Local broadcast on Channel 4 with what looks like national coverage on NFL network.

Have a great day!
I some how got blacked out in my area for the game vs chiefs. No worry’s as I watched the replays, but I would have been very upset if it was a regular season game lol. Great thing, I have the Sunday ticket for the regular season like last season. I can’t wait. I’m Looking forward to tonight’s game. We are almost there! September 8th is sooooon. I hope our offensive line plays well tonight and all season.
This is a HUGE night for some on our roster. Maybe more than we know. This because by Tuesday the team will need to be down to 53. Cut day is coming fast.
Looking for the following tonight if the starters are playing one whole half:

Injury free.
70+ yards rushing.
Lawrence with 2 TD's and a perfect PR.
2.5 sacks from the defense.
1 turnover forced.
Shutout or 3 points surrendered only.

I know our starters are playing a half but what about the Falcons?

Also, give me one more BTJ deep pass from Trevor and no injuries.

Don't take this to the bank, but I thought someone on 1010 said they wouldn't?  or a limited number... personally I hope they play at least some.
Final spots stuff I'll be watching tonight, here's some fringe players fighting for a job next week.

Backup Center: Fortner, Shatley, D. Williams. Someone has to make the cut, at least until waiver claims and street guys are made. Interestingly, after early reports he was taking snaps Jaguars.com lists Cooper Hodges at OT; but I don't think he's played a single game snap anywhere but Guard.

Receiver: Jones, Cooks, Trammel. Special Teams is likely the driver here.

Corners: Prince, Brown, Braswell, Flowers, Hallett, Oruwariye. After Campbell, Darby, and Jarrian at least two of those make the cut.

Safety: Edmunds, Amos, Proctor. Likely one makes it to fill in until GIpson is available in October.

Running Back: Robinson, Jackson, Brightwell. Can one of them displace D'Earnest Johnson?

D Line: Lacy, Ledbetter, Otomewo, RRH, Speaks, Coleman, Cole, Gipson. The mix of tackles and ends will decide which of these guys sticks. I think Lacy, Cole, and Otomewo are the likely, RRH is there for contract reasons. Gipson has been underwhelming and might not make the squad.

Looks like they may be resting starters.
need Lawrence to come out and put together a clinic first drive and then get him out. Perry can play the rest of the game after that. Give the starters their dress rehearsal and get ready for Miami.

Good summary. I am being lazy and using these guys research ... Smile

When it comes to running back, if the candidates are close it may be the ability to pick up the blitz that makes the decision for our management.
Pull the starters on a high and confident note and let's see who wants to be on the final 53.
Damn is it 4pm yet? Naw it's not even noon yet zzzzzzzz. Time is going by so slow. I'm ready for game time already.
I'll probably watch the first half or so.  I really don't care for preseason "games".
Just hope we get out looking sharp and zero injuries. Cut down day is coming. Not a fun time for the staff or borderline players for sure.

Tuesday by 4:00, I believe. Some of these guys have to be getting a little anxious.
Would like to continue to see the defense depth players finishing strong. OL depth needs to show up tonight. The last 2 games were not pretty. And I'm curious to see who locks up 6th WR. (or possibly 7th). Already have an idea about Braswell and Prince being locks at 4 and 5 DB if they have another strong game tonight.

It seems pretty strange for the Falcons play their starting roster in the game, as they played backups in games 1 &2, but that seems to be the case.  Kirk Cousins hasn't played a down in the preseason with the new system.  I know he's a vet, but you'd think he'd kick a little rust off the tires.

Dempsey threw me for a loop when he said Perry won’t see the field tonight and Jones will probably play the rest of the way after Lawrence gets outta there.

Threw me for another loop when he said RRH has been playing with the 3’s, which is a tell tell sign that he could be a surprise cut.
The OL needs to dominate against backups. The starters struggle, it could be a long year.
