Where would you go for reliable info on how many abortions are taking place, who is having them, and why they are having them?

Real talk:
Almost all late term abortion is due to either an urgent threat to the mother's health, like an infection or severe preenclampsia, or a severe fetal deformity that will result in the fetus not being able to live more than a week or so outside the womb.

Healthy women don't abort healthy fetuses in the third trimester.  All states have some sort of allowance for the mother's life, and when it's severe deformity, there is time for the mother to cross state lines if she wants to.  So even though there are a small number of cases to begin with, these restrictions end up having very little effect, even on the small number of cases.

It's not an straight line of "the later the abortion, the bigger of a monster you are".

The way that we talk about abortion, whether we think it is a woman's right or not, needs to get with the times.

Real talk. There is nothing that killing a baby in the late third trimester for the health of the mother that delivering the baby won’t also fix. The mom will have to deliver the baby either way cuz they don’t just disappear in utero, so birth is happening one way or the other. Killing the baby doesn’t change that.
Now severe deformities is a different issue.

Never thought of it like that.. The delivery is happening either way at that point.

Now its different in the middle of labor if it becomes between the life of the mother and the life of the baby situation, but that is an emergency and not an abortion.

Delivering a fetus or inducing labor can be considered abortion if the fetus isn't ready yet.  If it's the third trimester and the fetus is normal other than the fact that it is threatening severe harm to the mother, the fetus is viable and delivering it might not be abortion, depending on how the law was written.
I'm gonna go ahead and get my lololol's out of the way now, because I have a feeling there's gonna be loads of em lol

And if I lose a baby at 2 months, it’s considered a spontaneous abortion, but you know that’s not the kind of abortion we are talking about. Inducing a baby with the goal of being born alive is not considered an abortion. Mincing words to try to make some sort of point isn’t helping the abortion issue at all.

He's always trying to obfuscate the intent by applying non-applicable scenarios to the discussion. It's his way.

Abortion is not the end of the life of the child/fetus. Abortion as a medical term is talking about the pregnancy, that's why abortion can be natural/spontaneous or induced and induced abortions do not have to include ending the life of the child/fetus. Abortion as a political hot potato is talking about ending the life of the child/fetus without regard to the fact that the pregnancy is also ending.

We're by default discussing the second type and when it occurs, so we've eliminated his first sentence above as the intended distraction it is.

I'm only trying to talk about what different laws say.  They are confusing. There are about 50 different definitions of abortion out there now.
