Doing my best Bullseye impression here. With a month of football games behind us and at 0 - 4. Trying to break down overall units and some specific players in general. I'll TRY to keep it short and sweet.

Offensive play is garbage. Woefully inconsistent. Starting with Lawrence. He's failing this team at the moment. D+ is me being fair because he's had 1 turnover in 4 games, however, the inaccuracies, the overall flow and feel of these games with him, I just don't see it looking good long term and there's buyer's remorse for me already after that contract deal. Yesterday was the spillover for me after three weeks of the offense doing nothing. He had the chance yesterday to get it done and he didn't do it.

Etienne is below average. I am digging the [BLEEP] out of him for the momentum killing fumble in Miami. It set the tone for the whole month of September. The WR core can be better. BTJ is a lone bright spot. The rest of the group is underwhelming or inconsistent. Offensive line play has been up and down but average overall in my opinion. Average enough for this team to be at least 2 - 2 instead of 0 - 4 in my opinion.

Good stuff out of Bigsby and Strange in year two. Enough said. Much better overall production and play. Night and day from rookie season. With that said? The defensive line is not flashing enough nor doing enough. They get a D+ along with Lawrence. Your QB, your pair of EDGE rushers, etc. They're supposed to make the momentum shifting plays. Just not seeing it enough.

Secondary is beat up. Holding it's own to some extent. The linebacker's are up and down as a room overall, again, also banged up. Coaching across the board gets a solid C-. I find them all below average at this point, slightly. I think if we're looking at the first four games? Better coaching in the opener could have maybe changed the outcome, and better against Cleveland and even yesterday could have changed the outcome.

However, the skill position group along with Lawrence have basically let the play callers down so far in four weeks. That's really how I view things. Etienne's fumble, Engram and Kirk's drops, the illegal shift with Johnson, and Lawrence missing two TD passes yesterday? That's 28 points at the minimum right there that they've cost this coaching staff and the drops in the opener and other contests could have given the coaches more opportunities to look better.

Let's see what October brings I guess.
Appreciate the effort
Thanks. Doing it on the job as well. Spit balling most of it. Always welcome everyone's insight.
We went 0-4 against some mediocre at best football teams. Competitive in 3 of them and just didn't close the game or seal the deal. Collectively, this season is looking like a colossal failure. It's still salvageable because the division is bad, and it's still early. But we are terrible, with some glimpses of what we would like to see more of and know what we have in us when we're playing up to our potential. The standard isn't being set, there is no tone setter, we're just cooked and the leadership is just moaning and groaning with no answers.
Nice stuff
Punting/GK gets a B for me
That’s good so are we going to grade the coach’s and Blake to
This sounds like it on the players only

It's in the post. C- for coaching overall from me, below average. Baalke gets a D+ from me if I had to include him in the post. The lack of consistency with the defensive line and the up's and down's with the offensive line are enough for me after three years.

He also needs to be shown the door, regardless of some miracle turn around, he needs to be the first name called out when heads are rolling. I have dogged and demonized Baalke enough around here already. People know my stance on him.

Cooke and Little are so good at what they do and didn't want to stain their names with the rest of this lot. Cooke should be an All-Pro Punter if he's not listed as one already.
Blake D+
Etc.
Cam Little: A

Cam Robinson, since we're on the topic of Cam's. Cam Robinson also gets an A.

For being a real A hole. For sure. I should add that to the Report Card grading scale. There's A for all-stars like Little and Cooke and then there's the other A for total A hole's that are robbing this team blindly.

Cam Robinson: A Hole

Fanbases Spirit: B, for Broken. Love you guys! Keep the faith!
LBs are playing like backups, which they are. The starters looked good before they got injured. C+ or B-.
Caldrac forgot to grade run D, which has been decent. B-.
Secondary played well against Miami but have been putrid since then. B for week one and F for the next three weeks.
Other than the critical fumble, ETN has done well with his touches. I'd give him a B.

Other than those, I agree with Caldrac's grades.

Surprisingly, some of your grades were actually generous.

Lawrence: D-

Davis: D

Line play: D

Coaching: F

Baalke:: F-

The only acceptable/good grades:

Bigsby: B+

Cooke: A

Little: B+

Brown: B

BTJ: A-

On the bright side, our city was spared the devastation suffered in North Carolina, West Florida and Georgia. Must keep things in perspective.
I agree with most. The secondary should have lower than C. They really haven't been playing well.
I know i am banging the pots and pans around here but I see overall the league is bad. Outside of a few teams maybe, bad and boring football is being played across the league.

No excuse for the D level effort from the Jaguars but there aren't many teams that scare me for their level of play and capability. The play on the field is sloppy and the lack of practice time means the teams take until mid-season to separate in their play.

I am not going to count last year's collapse against the 0-4 start. That gives the front office a big Fat F. This year is on the players and coaches.

A lot of teams are either losing or winning in similar fashion. Kanas City is not off to some white hot start, they're figuring out how to win though. The Bills got their reverse uno card from the Ravens last night after they beat the hell out of our team last Monday. The Eagles, Cowboys and 49ers are all struggling.

The Commanders are ascending. The Jets couldn't beat the Broncos yesterday, and they missed a FG last minute that would have clinched the win in a really ugly overall contest for both teams. The Saints went from white hot to cooling off quickly now. There's a lot of different things going on right now in the NFL.

Quality is down across the board. Bill Cowher made a good point as a former coach and called out the obvious. This is the result of how soft the NFL has become with cutting back a preseason game and adding a regular season game into the fold. This is the result of being less and less physical preparation wise leading up into the actual contests that count.

At some point? In October? This is where the good rosters with the great enough players will start getting the rust off completely and figuring things out. This team still has twelve weeks left to figure it out, with a bye week baked in. I haven't lost faith yet. I still believe they can turn it around once they start getting healthier on defense and the offense gels better with the line play, etc.

It's only a matter of time. Just hoping they can get it figured out in time to make another run like they did in 2022. Don't count this team out yet. I think it's a mistake. Even with what the odds and history books say.
Staff Report Cards:

Offseason Install and Preparation: F
Player Development: D

Offensive Gameplanning: C-
Offensive Playcalling: C

Defensive Gameplanning: C
Defensive Palycalling: C

(defensively - it's a new scheme with lots of new faces and injuries, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt)

The offensive playcalling has not actually been that bad, just a few boneheaded calls and some weird strategy decisions each week. Most teams have that pretty often.  The problem is that this staff can't find a way to get production out of a personnel group plenty talented enough to produce much more. The scheme needs different tweaks than the ones they brought to the table to start the season. That's a fail. They didn't understand their own weaknesses and strengths well enough. They made changes - but not the right ones - and the preparation of the players as a unit and individually was miserably bad.
At this moment the scale should 1 to 5 (5)
Rather than a to f (6)

And no grading one the curve
