I expect Morse to get worse next year, he's old, just like Scherff already is. And Cam has been the same through 3 coaches now, he's just average. None of those 3 should be in any discussion about development or regression

LOL, sophomore slump?  I'm sorry, that dog just don't hunt.  This is the NFL.  We're not stanning for East Bum [BLEEP] University.

I understand the point...  I do.  I just don't buy it.

There are plenty of players that don't have 2nd year slumps.  Specifically talking about Harrison, he played pretty good his rookie year.  He looks completely washed in the 4 games into his 2nd year.

It is my opinion that there is no develoment happening with these coaches and their players.  Harrison is one that makes my point.

I think, if you really wanted to make me look stoopid, you'd tell me how good Bigsby looks since his rookie year...  (Slowly pitching the softball to you)
After the decades of suck, ain’t no way I’m letting Doug walk. Back to back 9-8 seasons and a playoff win in 2 years and some change.

I like how Bortles' slump turned all his bad good and he had his best season Big Grin

The Sophomore Slump refers to players who were pretty good sliding back to the mean, as did Anton Harrison exactly as we're seeing, and a 3 to 12% performance reduction across positions on both sides of the ball is significant. You can not buy it all you want, doesn't mean it's not accurate. Bigsby is irrelevant because you have to first be good as a rookie to experience a second year slump; ditto for Strange who is having a pretty good stretch so far. Had he been able to hold on to that hail mary in the end zone against the skidmarks he'd be a local hero right now. And I'm not trying to make you look stupid, it requires no effort at all.

Harrison played well in week 4

I still think he was suffering from the preseason concussion, everyone of those things acts how it wants and his head might just now be really clearing.

What do you mean by, "it's significant"?  Is it statistically significant?  Is it less than .05% of the probability value?  Because this Harvard guy that you are citing makes no scientifically based statistical analysis.  At least not one that he's citing himself.  He's just throwing numbers at the wall and saying that correlation is causation.

It's not though.  It's a fallacy that charlatans use to trick people that don't know better.

Regarding Harrison, how many times did he get blown out and put on his [BLEEP] during his rookie year?  I don't know.  I'm just asking.  But I do know that at least 3 times in the first 4 games I've seen Harrison fall on his [BLEEP] or just completely look like a turnstile.

You linked a Harvard study from some guy.  I'll accept his study as being something he did.  Do I accept his study as being a proper analysis of Harrison's first 4 games of his 2nd year at RT?  Absolutely not.

And again, Tank Bigsby is looking pretty good.  I guess he's the outlier?  What about Trevor Lawrence?  Did he have a Sophomore slump in 2022?  What about Strange this year?  Is he slumping?  He actually has stepped up, too.  Sorry, I just don't buy it.

Quick Edit: Regarding the preseason concussion. I didn't hear about that, if that's true, then I would reconsider my point with Harrison. If he had a bad concussion then maybe that could be the issue? With that said, it's week 5. We need better from Harrison. He did do better last week He's gotta get right moving forward.
You could try reading my post before using examples I already explained. Or just said"gee FSG, you're right again as usual, I see it now." Either would've been far more correct.

That would be against my nature.

Naturally.
Hey I can't wait to hear what "Tony Wiggins cooks up this week"... Oh wait, I actually don't give a single [BLEEP], just like I didn't give a single [BLEEP] last week.
