No, the journalists get to lie with the veneer of legitimacy, that's how most debates go. What they did was what everyone knew they would do and why the Republicans put the clause in at the start. Then when Vance calls them on it live on television the True Believers want to act like he was wrong for doing so, while the Normies recognize that Vance was in the right.
