There is a better argument to have about the Haitians in Springfield. It's not "should they be here". It's "should they all move to the same place".
Both France and Germany, since the 1960s, have made it easy for foreigners to legally come to their country. The French government pays little attention to where in the country they choose to live, and inevitably they end up all clustered together in "bad" neighborhoods of big cities. They don't assimilate very well and it reinforces racial stereotypes. The German government is different. They more or less assign foreigners cities and villages to live in as they come. So everywhere gets some. They are intentionally mixed up. The poorer ones end up in big ugly public housing towers, but this is still all mixed in terms of race and national origin. And guess what. France is now known to have religious and racial riots from time to time. Germany is not. Germany assimilates people better, and probably we should be more like them. The people with temporary protected status are not citizens. Our government should have some leeway to direct them to move to a certain area or not.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
Springfield Ohio is hardly the shining blight of the Haitian immigrant issue. It's just a political plaything. A stunt.
Florida and the Northeast have insanely more Hatian immigrants than Ohio. Springfield is just a case of a town that had sunk in population and initially had ample living and job opportunity for the first wave of immigrants. It eventually took on more than it could provide for so they are getting pushback now. Too much of a good thing. The fact that FL and several NE states aren't being mentioned at all in this screams that the whole "issue" around Springfield is a political stunt meant to ramp up the fear mongering. Our country, like everyone else that has it pretty good, is going to be forced to continually make it tougher to immigrate and it's a shame. But it is what it is. Lying about legal status, threatening/planning mass deportation, misclassifying immigrants as criminals, and driving fear is not the right way to go about it. But someone sees that as easy low hanging fruit to help get elected. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Who ya gonna believe here? A humanitarian billionaire genius rescuing astronauts from space and giving free satellite internet access to hurricane victims, singlehandedly doing the federal governments job himself......or some dude living paycheck to paycheck in a 300sf box in Manhattan who gets his news from Rachel Maddow?

Your biased participation was prevented by agreement before hand that the schlub will have to defend himself, not force me to debate all three of you at once. He doesn't care, he wants the power of the platform to be able to push the propaganda. It's a cesspool there now by comparison. My understanding is the starlink stuff is being donated in certain areas and being paid for in others, as is the case with many countries and many states where he profits from the business. Kudos to him for waiving some fees in certain areas. Don't forget another starlink client , Russia, who use his starlink equipment to outfit/navigate drones that kill Ukrainians. They keep finding downed drones with the gear onboard. Thanks for the article, though. Maybe that's legit, but if it is captured equipment, why is it so easily functional for the unintended purpose? Technologically speaking, that should be easy to prevent, no? I'm sure if you have a starlink receiver in your home and you don't pay your bill, it will cease to operate. Why not here?

No, the journalists get to lie with the veneer of legitimacy, that's how most debates go. What they did was what everyone knew they would do and why the Republicans put the clause in at the start. Everyone also knew they wouldn't be able to control themselves and just have to interject their bias into the debate. Then when Vance calls them on it live on television the True Believers want to act like he was wrong for doing so, while the Normies recognize that Vance was in the right. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

My Greek relatives told me this exact thing during my recent trip to Europe. Greece has the same issue with Albania to the North and Turkey to the East. And they have cousins that live in Germany that also confirm this.
