(11-06-2024, 08:22 AM)mikesez Wrote: [ -> ]I was comparing Wikipedia's count of votes so far and their estimate of the percentage of votes that had been counted. The numbers looked plausible in the middle of the night but as of right now they're still saying only 80% of votes have been counted which is not correct. Looking at AP's numbers and projecting based on what AP says is left to count, looks like Trump is going to end up with 75.5 million votes, only slightly more than the 74 million he got last time. Harris is projecting to get between 70 and 71 million votes.  Looks like a little over a million people switched their vote, but the bigger story is about 10 million Biden voters failed to show up for Harris.

The story is not the same in each state. Turnout seems to be up overall in Georgia and Wisconsin, but down overall in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The article didn't say he was racist.  It said he made racist attacks against Harris and that's true.

Saying someone made racist attacks is implying they're racist.

Yeah but it's facts.
Making fun of the fact that as a biracial person she sometimes emphasizes one of the races and other times emphasizes the other, is a racist attack.  It's not her fault she's biracial and she has an equal rights to identify with both groups.
Maybe don't attack her that way, if you don't want people to "imply" that you're racist.

The fact that they were opponents at the time, everything he said about her was intended to hurt her chances of winning and help his.
Don't be dense.

See, you don't know everything.  Big Grin I couldn't help myself. Lol.

I'm glad your kid was curious and went to bed free of anxiety. Unanswered questions about things that concern us can definitely cause anxiety and fear, especially in kids who don't always feel like they can ask questions without being chastised or ignored.

He merely pointed out the fact that she used whatever racial identity she believed benefited her at the time.
If stating facts is qualified as an attack, then encyclopedias are war machines.
Eat it!!!

Perspective, of course.  The Left labels EVERYTHING as racist.  You must be new here.   Laughing

The fact is Harris, when emphasizing one race over the other, is the one committing the "racist" action (sounds a little like Colin Kaepernick).

Ya know, to be honest for a minute, normally I'd laugh at those people.. But I'm not going to, and I'll yell ya why..

The Democratic Party has sown so much hatred, with all of their lies and gaslighting, this is the end result..

I hope those people grow up, learn how the world really works and be better for their own futures.. If not, we could be possibly looking at more school shooters in the making.. No more coloring books, no more hot chocolate.. Time for [BLEEP] therapy, many years if necessary..

That's what the Democratic Party does to it's constituents..

And what did you learn?

I learned that the american voters are telling us that they misunderstood the causes of inflation and are more concerned about that than about democracy and social stability.

We may end up like Germany, where people didn't learn until their bout with fascism.

Hmmm... fascism. You mean like in countries where a party's political candidate is just nominated and not chosen by the very members of that party? That facism?

I just returned from a 7 country tour of Europe last month, and i can tell you the people I encountered had no issue with Trump or with America. And they know what real facism is. Not faux facism.

There is nothing wrong with a biracial person maintaining contact with both identities.  A lot of them choose to do it.  Some can't avoid it, depending on circumstances.

That has nothing to do with it.
Most countries have parties that choose candidates this way.  Very few have partisan primary elections. Is every country like that fascist now?
