And yes there are many options available to you.  But the two options I mentioned are the most conducive to good conversation.

We've all tried to have conversations with you.. And I'm assuming those "good" conversations began to dwindle away once we figured out that you have a serious problem with contrarianism.

Lol no. The only one who ever tried was L2L. He would say things like, "I don't know if what you said is right or wrong, but you're missing the point about the global elite conspiring to enslave us via theories of oppression." He lost interest when he realized I wasn't going to go down that rabbit trail with him. But it was mutually respectful.
Mostly.
Whereas the rest of you don't even process what I said and simply reply "I sense you disagree about Trump.  You have TDS.  Lol, look at the beta loser with TDS!"

No. I don't care if you disagree with me or think I'm thinking about things wrong.  Just say so without making it personal, or say nothing at all.  It's not hard!

But that’s not what you said. You didn’t say anything about not making it personal, you said you wanted acknowledgment for how great or witty your thought processes are…ie: validation.

So basically, L2L got tired of beating his head against a concrete wall..
You can't have a meaningful conversation with someone who harbors so much hatred for one man.. It's impossible. That hatred runs deep for some and Trump is such a prolific part of our political system now and it alters some people's state of thinking.

Quote:I'm looking for "I didn't know that, thanks for pointing that out" or "I already knew that and I'm not persuaded because ..."

Sure, the first possibility I listed is validating.  The second one is not.  Because the validation part doesn't matter to me.  Either way is fine

Does validation matter to you? I hope not because I find you to be dense, argumentative, and ill tempered.  Like someone who used to be smart and open to the world but who has been totally worn down by a family that can't give her the time of day and perhaps also a chronic disease.  I know that's mean, but since you're not looking for validation I figure what's the harm?

I don't hate him.  I have complimented some of his actions here.  You are lazy and it's easier for you to make an excuse like this than it is to engage in critical thought.

Am I lazy? I am now, especially when it comes to meaningful conversations because I refuse to chase my own tail anymore.. I'd much rather laugh, call you a jackass and move on to the next big topic that you crusade about.

And last time I checked, you don't wish death on people that you like.

Some people do! When Gramps gets dementia and makes Grandma's life hell, the grandkids usually do say, "It will be better for her when he's gone." But it's too late for that now.  As I've already said.

That’s the difference between the two of us. I couldn’t care less what you or anyone else thinks of me, you on the other hand desperately care how you’re viewed. I am secure with who I am as a person and unlike you I don’t need outside validation.

Maybe you can do some affirmations everyday to help. I bet Stuart Smalley would be very motivational for you, try saying this in the mirror a few times a day:
“Im good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me”.

It's not a difference, apparently neither of us cares about validation from this board.  I know you don't because I read what you wrote.  You would know I don't if you read what I wrote.

Saying that you don’t care and actually not caring are two different things. One of us doesn’t care, and it’s not you.

Then why are you repeatedly denying it?
Mike.. you’re smart. I just wanted to explain, to you that I owe you a pat on the head. You’re amazing. There is a whole tens of people that read this section and applaud your intellectual superiority. Sure, they have very short (now) hair tainted blue. They may not be able to tell the difference from a fart and an idea. They may not be able to distinguish between reality and fantasy land. But we’re out here Mike! We’re rooting for you! And Kamala! Yall got this! Be smarts! Intellectuals, and suches. You’re smart man!

There's a textbook example of contrarianism and onstinance.  Did you raise a daughter?
